I went shoe shopping today. I came home with two pair of shorts and no shoes. Why do 90% of shoes feel like you're walking on pillows? Who the hell are all these tender foot folks?

A 10mm heel drop in a cross trainer? How am I supposed to squat in that? That was considered high for running shoes just a few years ago. Now everyone wants a damnable Weeble-Wobble shoe because they think it'll magically make them a better runner/walker/athlete. No, you're still shit. You're just faster in a straight line. Get better and then worry about better gear.
