However, the T52's are awesome for me with a 6 month age on them (after boxed and shipped).

Haven't been able to wait on the T52s yet. It is the cigar I gravitate to most often. However, I'm trying. I have a box or two or three sitting until the end of the year. Will let you all know my thoughts.

JD--I'm with you on the T-52s ... though I think they're great fresh, I enjoy them so much more with age. I think the flavors come out all the more and they seem a bit smoother too (I have a couple left with like 16 months and they're a real treat!).

On the #9s ... sorry, lol, but I like to age those too. I'll admit the freshest I've had was only like 3 mnoths old, and it was awesome for the first inch but then just sort of lost it for me. With age they just seem to have more legs for me ... again, the flavors come out more and they seem a bit sweeter too.

I passed on an OR box of LP#9 Toros (my favorite size) because I'm evactuate from Japan right now and won't be home for a while ... but I"m kinda regretting that because I would have loved to try them with that much age.

And to quote Don Cruzado ... the Liga Privada T-52 is tits!!!

Wow.. great discussion.
I prefer the LP9 right OTT. However, it is a cigar that when put away to age, does not seem to go through a "sick period" and tends to mellow out a bit...... jsut enough to be noticeable.... perhaps the correct term is "smooths out".

For me, the T-52 does benefit from age and does have a period of muddled flavor when put down, between the 2-4 month point. I love them with a year on them .....particularly the toro and torp. It also seems to age better when kept closer to the humidity source... so that they are just above 70%......the wrappers hold more flavor. I move them to my desktop, which stays at 65-67% for a few days before smoking and then they burn perfectly.

Just my $.02.

T52 - I keep three boxes of robustos as these are in my regular weekly rotation now. It allows me to get 6 to 8 months on a box before its opened. Awesome sticks.

#9 - Never lasted long enough to age. May have to try someday like the T 52's

I think that there are things to gain and lose from smoking fresh and aged. As far as my taste preference, I like T52s with SOME age, and 9s WHENEVER. I think the 9 pig I smoked that was so epic had rested a year. While the T52s have been good, they aren't that good, but I suspect could become better with age.

I have smoked one FLAT T52, but every 9 was just right.

I smoked one of my original no. 9's the other day and it def. had some different notes to it as a result of age, but in saying that I will still smoke both the no 9 and the t52 right out of the box. They are amazing.
