The Koa is the darker highly figured wood on the top and the sides. It's so very rare to find it with this much figure. The only other time I saw Koa with this much figure was on an acoustic guitar that was over $50,000.00 bucks. I wish I could find more. Worst part is, I didn't save any for myself.:frown:I think I know the Tiger Maple, Hard Maple and Walnut. Which is the Koa? Is Koa also called Monkey Wood in Hawaii?
