It doesn't hurt that my wife, aka the beautiful brunette, encourages me in my obsession, (to a point).

Hum, good question. Can't say for certain, but the older kids have often referred to the times when we would get together for some 1 on 1 time and I would smoke a cigar, so naturally that would end up becoming part of the conversation. In my enthusiasm I would offer them a puff, (I don't chew on my cigars), and tell what I was tasting and encourage them to look for that and other flavors. Next thing I know they are raiding my humidor and asking me what to pair with the cigar they just "stole" But, I really can't say "that's the magic bullet" so to speak.

eckkiss:Yeah. Until finding this forum, I did not have a source to find good non-contraband cigars. Local smoke shops and the monthly top rated sticks from CA are both expensive and unfruitful for me. I just don't see what all the hoopla is about with some of their picks. A friend introduced me to CI, the prices are such that I can afford to take the risk on a small qty purchase. If they don't suit my taste, maybe after a couple of more months in the humidor they will.
So, I did buy a box of the La Perla Habana Black Pearls. We'll see what they turn into after a couple of months of rest.
BTW - I am seeing a lot of unfamiliar acronyms in many of the post. Is there a "conversion table" for noobies to the list?
