First roll in progress .. Turning to remove seam after first hour.
@Marc L and @BrewinHooligan

I think I overfilled, or not rolled tight enough.. Either way have at thee and pick it to pieces if you would be so kind. Criticism very welcome here.

Maybe a little over stuffed, but you won't know until you rotate and are ready to wrap. Try to make sure the head is a flat/even cut and stuff as tight in the head of the mold as you can to form the rounded head of the stick. Then do a test draw before you wrap to make sure you can get a good draw. Looking damn good from what I can see Dan!

Got ya! Just readjusted them and trimmed a little to square it up. Thanks for the heads up.

You might be right. it looks that way but, if it is bunched to loose for the mold it could still have that appearance. you'll still need to rotate those creases you know I'm sure but, if it is too much tobacco for the mold, you'll be risking inability to dry and or draw and burn issues.

OK mate, I'll see how they go, I don't think the binder will hold up to being unrolled the Nicuraguan Habano Seco was really fragile and I'm all out now, so fingers crossed.

To be honest mate, I didn't count, another lesson no doubt... put it down to excitement.
I did bunch and bunch though then realized it doesn't compress as much as I thought, pretty much halved what I initially had and tried again.

Well it ain't pretty but it's a cigar! First attempt done! Got some learning to do... How come none of your cigars have veins visible? Is it the leaf or did I not bring it up to case right? I mean I was going for that Leaf by Oscar look of course but just curious :ROFLMAO:;)

PS them caps be tricky.

It is that. Remarkably parallel-sided for a first attempt.

How come none of your cigars have veins visible?
Gotta get your veins going the same direction as the barrel, not around it. Use the outer edge of the leaf where veins are smaller. Put the vein side in. If they're still looking big, roll a rolling pin over them once or twice.

Nice dude! Awesome first roll. I think we all have veins, we just hide them on the back. you can also use a rolling pin to knock em down

A seriously awesome first attempt! Making the veins smaller and the wrapper smoother takes practice. Wrapper leaf with straighter veins like CT Shade and Ecuadorian Habano are easier to work with than leaf with veins that aren't like Brazilian Mata Fina or San Andres where the veins can look like a road map. When the veins are gnarly I cut my wrapper no wider than 2" as that is easier to pull tight and straighten the vein opposed to a wider piece of leaf. Another thing is getting used to each wrapper leaf and get a feel for how much you can stretch it before it tears. The more you can stretch the wrapper, the smoother it will be. You will be amazed at how quickly you improve with regular practice.

I'd say BrewinHooligan has got it right. I could take another pic that shows them more. You got the Leaf by Oscar look down.

They are pretty small.
