Plume or Mold

Got these day before yesterday and the guy working at the B&M said
it was plume and that they were from the first batch so i grabbed all
he had left.

My first thought was "Wow look at all that plume"! These are a great find
but in the back of my head, i also thought this could be mold.

He said that he wiped the mold off of his (ooops plume):eyebrow: and it smoked great!

You guys know i'm still a rookie... let me know what you think!

If you wait 'til tomorrow (assuming it'll be sunny where you are), take the sticks outside and see what they look like in sunlight––if they sparkle and show some iridescence, it's plume. Otherwise, you can take a close-up look (maybe if you've got a magnifying glass or something, or if you've got really great near-sighted vision)––mold looks like little white spores with stems growing into the wrapper itself (imagine microscopic mushrooms with flat caps). I'm sure someone here will have pics of what mold looks like up close.

Take it back to the place and get a refund. They clearly don't know what they're talking about or worse––they do and completely f****d you over.

If it sparkles it's plume. If it looks furry and you can see spores.. it is mold.

This is mold.

When comparing it to yours it looks similar which makes me think it's mold. I can't imagine a B&M employee dicking you over though. I hope I'm wrong and most likely am because I have little experience with both mold and plume.

I'd have to agree with mold. There's always the blacklight test, but it looks like it grew in spots and isn't even. Get your money back!

I don't exactly know what PLUME is...so if it were me I would take them back. Hopefully the guy isn't a pinhead and will refund with no hard feelings even though I think he jerked you around.

Damn, the last time I saw mold that bad my doctor prescribed me a cream. I can't imagine that they wouldn't take them back, especially if there are customers at the counter when you ask.
