Wow just saw the pics. No self-respecting shop would sell something like that or even have their humi so sticks get like that. I would take them back for a refund immediately and find a new shop. Obviously there is a problem there. I don't think La Riqueza has even been out long enough for plume. Hope it all works out for you.

for reference. look at the bottom row of smokes on the left. Do you see the white dusty stuff on those cigars? THAT is plume, and probably on cigars that are 10 years old or older. Photo taken from www.Vitolas.net

Ohhhhh man those are nasty!
I think that's the most mold I have ever seen.

I found a box of phillies in my great grand mothers shed that looked something like that.

Sorry dude.

I had a dream last week that I opened a box from the humi and it looked like that, but worse. I started opening the others and they were all totally mold covered. It was very disturbing and made me check the humidor the next day. Only time I have ever dreamed about cigars.

Not making light of your situation at all, that is not cool that they sold cigars in this condition. Sorry for the bad luck.

Damn, this really disappoints me because it means I have smoked moldy cigars before. I never even wiped them off just assumed it was plume and went on smoking. Also means I may have sent someone moldy sticks thinking it was plume, damn I feel like a douche now.

not to ruffle any feathers, but it is your fault for buy something without knowing. If you did not know the difference between mold and plume, all the blame lies on you.

I would highly suggest not recording someone without their knowing.

Wow on the first part. Because he was lied to and got duped, he's to blame? Any business that makes a habit of lying to customers will not and should not be a business for very long.

I agree with your 2nd point... not a good idea.

The law in GA states that i can record without his/her knowledge, and it still be admissible as evidence in a court of law. I'm just going to and talk
to her first and see what happens, if it doesn't go well i'll pull it out and let
them know i'm recording the conversation to later be included in an affidavit.

So there will be disclosure. I spent 55.00 on those sticks, and the money could
have went into my guess tank! So we'll see... and i'll keep you guys posted.

Sorry about the purchase.

However, it isn't worth the stress and headache of all of this. Once you make it adversarial, no one is happy.

Chalk it up to a 50 dollar lesson, wipe the cigars off and smoke them if it isn't in the foot, and go about your day. I would kindly reply to them that you have found moldy cigars in their humidor. If they reply that it is Plume, simply take your business elsewhere.

Cigar smoking is about relaxing and enjoying oneself.

very well said. I think a lot get wrapped up in so much crap about cigars, their opinions, the hunt, the review, seeking what others can not. Just enjoy what you smoke, learn from it, and smoke some more. :ccowboy:

Assuming it's plume (which it isn't) I have NEVER seen that much on any cigar...not even cigars aged from the 30's. There is absolutely no way a cigar that has only been on the market a few years would have 1/50th of the amount that thing does.

Uhhhhh...anyone else struck with some humidor paranoia after reading this thread? I gotta go check my sticks!

Unless your sticks are sitting in an 80F room being sprayed with a fine mist all day I wouldn't worry too much lol

Mold...Sorry.

I know I am repeating what many have said here, but you need to take them back. Any retailer wortha damn will apologize, and at least give you your money back.

Sorry bro...No fun.

My point is he is putting all the blame on the employee (not the owner), and is probably a 22 year old kid who doesn't know any better.

I would try to wipe them off, and see how they smoke. If they smoke well then smoke them, if not take the others back to the retailer and let them know, and see what their position is going to be. If they will not refund your money then don't give them anymore business, and tell everyone you know who smokes cigars about the shop.

An affidavit? Really? over $55?

Having said all that, keep in mind there are always three sides to every story.
