Panhandle FTW! There's plenty of room to hunt, fish, shoot, and farm. Not nearly as "Florida" as the rest of the state.. and not as pricey either..Dude they call it Flori-duh for a reason.....Talk about idiots... And crowded. Buuut, naples, miami, clearwater, and pcb do have quite a bit going in their favor. It's tough for me, I love the gulf, and I've lived there. Love working on the beach. But no mountains and forests is rough. Not many good places to shoot. and the soil sucks. (if you're anywhere close to the coast, which is the only place to be down there from my perspective) Eh, all in all it's a decent option I suppose.
True. Have you ever canoed the springs? Great times.Panhandle FTW! There's plenty of room to hunt, fish, shoot, and farm. Not nearly as "Florida" as the rest of the state.. and not as pricey either..
Tampa, Tallahassee, and anything along the Eastern seaboard is meh.. but the smaller places along the gulf side are cool AF
No, that's on the list though. We've been backpacking/hiking around Tate's Hell. Really wanting to make the next trip that way a canoe trip.. especially now that we've got a 18 month old en tow..True. Have you ever canoed the springs? Great times.
Tampa and Miami have great cigar cultures. Lots of neat places to find and smoke cigars. As far as getting a Condo and sitting on the beach for a week, not for me.
I lived Fort Walton Beach for 3 years and it wasn't too great. We recently lived all the way down in Boca Raton for a year....took us about 6 months to hate it and the people there. That state could sink into the ocean and I wouldn't be sad.Dude they call it Flori-duh for a reason.....Talk about idiots... And crowded. You get to a certain age and marital status the "scenery" on the beach just makes you sad.I simply can't understand not wanting to be on the beach....... I mean, the scenery alone.......Particularly miami.....

That would probably be the closest I could go to choosing a place lol.Well all this FL hatred I will tell you other than AZ I'd love to live in Pensacola.
Yea, everything is upscale now, including the people's attitudes.Miami has change big time, I remember going to Miami Beach prior to "58", it was run down, the place was a dump. Today is upscale, cool, all the Old Hotel have been renovated.
Up until about 1954 you would go to the beach in Florida, and leave the water with black oils spots. The spots were from ship torpedoed, and sent to the bottom in WW-II. Today that would called that a disaster, but time cleaned the ocean. No more like black oil spots.

I was stationed at Eglin for a year-and-a-half and thought it was just okay. But then, I'm not much of a beach person and most times, I didn't think it was worth fighting traffic and the sea of freaking humanity to get to a decent one during the tourist season. I'm more of a mountain person. But give me the right kind of beach:I lived Fort Walton Beach for 3 years and it wasn't too great.
Well then, this may not have been "legal" but nobody said a word to me.If the Beach is in California, you can do much any more we use to call fun. No cigar, No Camping, not much is legal that is a vice.
My buddy was in Long Beach recently smoking a Cigar, Beach Patrol gave him a warning to put it out.
Cops was nice not writing him a $250.00 ticket, because he was a tourist.![]()
All that aside, Family will be worth it. Been away from them for 25 years now and my parents are getting "up there" in age.I'd be all over moving to Cali if it weren't for the gun laws... Well, and the taxes.... Also the living expenses, douchebags, droughts, fires, earthquakes, mudslides, unsustainable gov insanity ...... You know what, just nevermind...It is pretty though!
