My dad went for a pre-lit Christmas tree from Costco. He loves it. Costco will take the tree back at any time if the lights or something quit working. He got lazy, his least favorite part of decorating a tree was stringing up the lights. The only downside to a fake tree is storing it for the other 11 months out of the year. But he found a storage bag, I think it was called tree caddy or something similar. The bag has a tree stand, you set it up in this stand and when you are finished with the tree you lift the bag up and around the tree and then just roll it away to its closet.

Found it! http://www.treekeeperbag.com/Christmas-Storage-Bags-s/107.htm

I really don't know what to get this year. Real or fake, probably something very small to put on a table and out of my 14 month old's reach!

We always say we are going to do a real tree but end up putting up the fake tree for convenience. Gonna have to make the real tree happen this year.

As a kid we always had a shitty fake one. Since I got married we always have a real one if I'm home, if not we have a fake one in storage. I like the real ones because they make the house smell nice.

Gotta go with a real tree if you can. Usually a family tradition for me to go grab one after thanksgiving with the parents/sister

Grew up with a real, but now I do fake, as we are back and forth to NC over the holidays, and are away from both trees for at least a week at a time. If we had real, the tree at one house wouldn't get watered while we where at the other. Both trees have LED lights, so they cost like a couple bucks in electricity over the entire season.

Once we sell the Jersey house, we'll probably go back to real.

Grew up with real, but when my wife and I first moved to KC and had an apartment we went with fake. Now that we have been in our house for the last 10 years we have gone back to real and love the smell.
