The really good and really bad ones are always memorable.
This 110%
When I first started I took pics, saved bands, kept a journal. But after awhile my palate changed and so all that went out the window. Over the years I've become somewhat a cigar snob and only really enjoy a select few. I'll break it up from time to time and try something new but for the most part I only have a handful of sticks that really suit my taste all the time. Thus it's easy to remember.
What are those select few cigars?

I use this website: stogierate.com

It lets you do a bunch of stuff including keeping track of what you have in your humidor, the dates purchased, how many you have...etc.

There is a place where you can write notes for each cigar and a running list that you can put yellow stars next to to indicate what you really enjoyed.

I'm relatively narrow in my selections. I've tried a decent bit, but since I don't smoke a ton, I stick to what I know and like. I don't go grab a bunch of singles unless they're newer releases from stuff I know I will enjoy.

I'd post on today's smoke thread, short blurbing what was most appealing / striking about the cigar.
Then after awhile , check my smoking history for reference to what gave me the most satisfying experience thru literal quips . these are one of the other many great features/d thusly at BOTL.. endless horizons here for you single thread junkies

It's all in my head. I tried to keep a cigar journal for a little while but realized that I enjoyed my smoking more when I wasn't trying to keep notes on it. While smoking I mentally categorize the cigar as: Didn't like, try again, good for a budget/good for a special occasion or buy some more of.

Cheers :ccool:
I had the same experience. Started to feel like work, which is exactly what I am trying to escape when smoking a cigar. I now just keep a couple excel sheets, one for cigars I would like to try or just buy again and one for cigars I consider "box worthy".
