Lots of good advice on this thread. I`m a bit "old school" on most things and was taught that you never criticize a gift. It`s also good to avoid causing embarrasment unless it`s the good natured, fun sort.
Even if you`re the most tactful person on Earth, it would probably be pretty tricky to point out this fellow`s mistake without offending him/making him feel like an idiot.

Smoke em! I`ve had a couple of fakes that were damn fine.

I have a box of fake Padrons that are a little tight, but the boys like em when we play poker, so instead of breaking out 8 decent cigars for a poker game, I break out as many of those as they want. I think you and I are on the same page when it comes to yard gars...they certainly have thier place in my rotation.

I will try to post pics of the Trinis tonight. I have smoked one of the Trinis and it was not too bad. Hopefully the "Cohibas" wont suck.

I worked with a guy who went to the Island and bought a box of esplendido's for a c-note from "A guy who's cusin worked (Allegedly) at El Laguito". While they were not the real deal (Looked pretty good though), they were rolled from cuban tobacco and smoked great. I ended up buying half the box for $5 bucks a stick. So hopefully they are Island smokes and not Mexican...
