The lavender lemon and orange habanero were my favorites. I’m thinking about using them in a hipster gin and tonic and maybe a Manhattan or old fashioned ?

It was fantastic. I got it for $25 off...my wife has some app she uses and they throw up bottle coupons all the time. I wanna say it's around 70 or 80 bucks normally.

Because its scotch finished in rum casks, it took alot of the edge away and made a sipper that had lots if depth without that medicinal finish well aged scotches seem to invoke.

I am pretty sure I said 'aaahhhhh' after every sip.

If you don’t mind me asking what app? I have yet to see the caribbean cask on a sale anywhere here in “NO” York. It’s been on my to try list for a long time.

After weeks of searching and asking at the local spirit mongers, I finally found it...at the Base Exchange Shopette, of all places: The GlenDronach 12...

I had a dram last night with a metric dollop of water. Not a terribly focused tasting but my first impression was floral nectar, honey, and spice on the nose and more of that on the palate with apple, vanilla, butter, and caramel. Finished a little toasty and woody.

I should’ve bought the other bottle.

The Wife and I spent last Sunday in Talkeetna, Alaska...a beautiful blue sky day in the mid-70s, which is sweltering for us thick-blooded folk. While there, we took the “deluxe tour” of the Denali Brewery. Founded in 2009, they are now the second largest brewery in the state, behind the Alaskan Brewing Co. in Juneau. Great tour, several tastings, a charcuterie plate, and some swag made for a great day.

I came away with a growler of their seasonal Kölsch style beer and this beauty:

One Tree Birch Beer, 750 ml, 9.1% ABV
