Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
You are going to love it!picked up my first bottle of oban.
Thanks for that. My first peaty Scotch was a Bowmore, and I really like it! Haven't tapped that QC yet though. The uber-peaty thing is very different, yes, and at this point I don't reach for it as often--have to be in the mood for it specifically. But I do like it.I got a fifth of the Laphroig QC in a trade a while back....early into my scotch drinking.....(still am actually)...
It is NOT for a newbie Scotch drinker. That I can agree with....Bandaids though?? I could see that perhaps...
But heavy campfire smoke flavor, and lots o' peat!.....typical of the Islay malts.
Gimmie the Speysides, or the Highland Malts....
You'll enjoy that Balvenie though Nate....I'd go with that one first!
I'm more of a bourbon & Irish whiskey drinker but when it comes to single malts, Oban is one of my favorites. I have a bottle of the Distillers Edition. It's very good!picked up my first bottle of oban.
This is my fav:stretchgr:stretchgr:stretchgrI've drank it, but never owned my own bottle. It was on sale and I couldn't pass it up at $68.
