It's a tough call to choose between a guaranteed enjoyable smoke, or something new that came highly recommended.
So true! I face the same dilemma all the time. I love my First World Problems!

I tend to go tried and true, but then I try a new one and love it, like the Ezra Zion Tantrum, and think "man, I've been missing out!"

Ashton or Macanudo. Also most torpedo's, because I prefer a nice open draw and hate losing a 1/2 inch of my cigar when I cut it.

we all have one-offs, hard to find, gifts. by the time we get here, we understand special occasion smokes, whatever we may deem them to be.

eventually, we also outgrow shit. tastes change, or blends change, and a cigar can fall out of favor.

but i'm not talking about those. what i wanna know is, what do you have in your stash, that you LOVE to smoke, and never seem to reach for? and why? the stick that you always seem to put back away, the one that you finally burn and go "why the hell don't i smoke these more often?"
Ive got a small stash of Padrons. I know they are phenomenal but I just always reach for something else.
Same with the few Habanos I have. Oh... theres a half drawer of assorted Opus sticks. Im waiting for some age on those though.

Only ones I am holding onto are my remaining Cubans. I have better smokes for sure but I like having them in the box. My under crowns and series v are my favorite but I tend to smoke around them just because I am working through my last couple of box purchases.

My Behikes. They all lay there. Throwin their hair around. Bitin their lip. Showin an occasional nip slip. But as a good Christian man, I resist and smoke another CroMag.
Heh, I just got my first box of BHKs, and have no idea when I'll get around to smoking one. I bought a 5er of Illusione Ultras, smoked two and loved them. Got the other three just sitting, and don't really know why. Every time I reach for one I wind up grabbing something else instead.

Awesome thread. Over my 2.5 years of smoking, I've acquired a few odd sticks in samplers, or because it was the last one in the box at the B&M, etc, that I'm saving either for certain occasions, or because I don't know when the right time will be but I'll know it when it happens. Among those are a Punch Gusto tubo and a La Aurora perfecto, and a very special Punch Deluxe Royal Coronation that is waiting for a very important day. I bought a box of the RC's to smoke on "somewhat related" days, but here lately it seems that nothing counts as worthy of one, even though I've had plenty of relevant excuses to smoke one. It's like I just can't bring myself to smoke one again until I smoke the special one.

Outside of that, I love my Camacho Pre-Embargos and MOW Armadas, and I have a couple Padron 64s that I've never tried, but I only smoke sticks such as these when the time is right.

The last time I smoked a Camacho pre embargo was one of the craziest nights I've had in last several years... The cigars I'm not smoking right now are all of the sticks in my humidor. My rh got all messed up and its going be a few weeks til they balance out... luckily I have a few sticks that were set aside that I'm going to break into tonight!

I've gotta say that I have found this thread interesting. At my age there is NO cigar in any of my humidors that is safe on any given day.
