Yes and no. If I'm referencing going there " I'm headed to the city for a giants game" if I'm talking about it in conversation it's San Francisco.

Also, any "Whale's Vagina" jokes about San Diego... Anchorman was a great film, except I feel like it crapped all over my hometown.

Ha, I'm glad someone appreciated that lil jab at Fresno. I've spent plenty of time in the Central Valley and have a thorough love/hate with it. Our running joke was calling it Fres-hell-no.

Never lived there, but I did live in WA a number of years. I fully support the use of 'left coast' for everything from San Diego to Seattle. Geographically and politically descriptive.
