RA898- love the 02s. 01s to me kinda blah. Knowing the infamous Cuban quality control, perhaps I just got a bad box. My 01s were quite bland.

I went through 3 boxes of the 01 898's in the last 5-6 years and agree with you overall. For me I think the draw was what kept these cigars from shinning and not the blend as maybe 1 in 6 would be unbelievable cigars, but the rest were very lackluster.

Now the flip side is teh 02's. Most consistant cuban cigar I've ever smoked and I've smoked though 2-3 boxes of my own and had a cigar from at least 5 other boxes and they are all consistant and EPIC!

I had boxes of 01 & 02 RA898s & at least with my experience, the 02s were miles beyond the 01s. Both now finished. On the other hand, I just opened a box of 06 SLR Coronas & can't believe how good they are.
