Phoenixcigar.com Perplexing Padilla prices

1932 Toro box @ $90 (CI is $280)
1948 Churchill box @ $74 (CI is $162)
1968 Torpedo box @ $40 (CI is $117)

Even comparing to CBid, CHIMP shows the min for the 1968 Topedo at $67, which is $27 more the phoenix.

I understand Padilla is supplied by several factories, these are not Pepin made, their Maimi factory is NOT rolling cigars yet, but if their tobacco supply has been uninterrupted, these prices are insane. $2 each for the '68 torpedo???

The reason I didn't jump on the 32's is because some had asked if anyone had ordered from phoenix before, and no one responded. Insane prices like this tend to scare me away if I can't find someone to vouch for the site....

Just got my confirmation that the box of robustos I ordered did indeed ship. We'll see when the get here but everything appears to be on the up and up. As a matter of fact, I forwarded the deal on to a few buddies of mine and they ordered as well.

So for those of you who like the ITC 10th Anniversary, cigar.com now has 2nds of that stick, and are currently selling bundles of 15 for just $29.99

http://www.cigar.com/cigars/viewcigar.asp?brand=390

I can't decide whether to go for it or not...I have a lot of 2nds already, and although they're great sticks for $2, I"m not sure I need any more cheap cigars right now. We'll see :)

Go for it NJ. Would that mean you are already dipping into April's cigar budget? :dunno:
lol, exactly. I think I'll hold off. IF these are well received, then I'll go for them next time they're on sale.

But now that I've started the cycle, it's in my blood! Buying cigars is like Doritoes--you can't eat just one.

Anyone want to split a box of Padilla '68?

That site worries me a little.

Read their Customer service, Privacy policy and terms and conditions.

Just my .02.

One of the BOTLs here worked for them until recently (Squid), and also the items ordered so far by Weskimad were shipped from "CI Fulfillment." So it seems that they are owned by CI, or at least partnered.

At any rate, weskimad said his box looked good, so that was enough for me.
