The solution to smoking in the winter...?

I have a 10x12 storage shed in the backyard. It is messy with yard equipment all summer. When it gets cold, I clean it up so there is plenty of room and have a chair, table, light setup in there. I have a small fan I put in the window to suck out smoke and a Mr. Heater propane heater to warm it up. It works pretty well, but is still chilly when it is colder than 20 degrees. I bought an adapter for the heater so I can use a 20lb propane tank and have a hole in the wall so the tank sits outside.
I also spend more time at the local lounge over the winter months.

Contemplating buying a 1500 watt electric heater or going with the propane one.
I get a little weirded out smoking near propane tho. Am I just being stupid?

That's why I have the tank outside just in case. You would also smell the propane if there were a leak or something. There is also airflow coming into the shed since I leave the small window open. If I had my way, I would have a standalone shed for a lounge only, finish it out with heat, ac, electric, couch and TV. Unfortunately, we are only allowed one storage building in our neighborhood.

Also, the Mr. Heater will shut off it automatically if it knocked over and has a carbon monoxide sensor.

I too, am trying to figure out something for the winter months. As awesome as the above video is, that is not an option. I have an basement walk-out patio that is directly underneath my deck. Thinking of just securing some tarps to the sides of the deck to block out any wind & a heater of some sort

My winter smoking strategy will be A) smoke during warmer sunny afternoons (first winter in Denver, this might be wishful thinking), B) smoke smaller/quicker cigars, and C) allow my cigars to age through the winter while I'm not smoking them. Wish me luck!

My garage has always been my smoking lounge. Unheated and uninsulated, it made for interesting 10 degree days out there. Even Mr Heater couldn't cut through that kind of cold - my front would be on fire and my back like ice. You learn to smoke short cigars on those days.

I thought long and hard about what to do...build a smoking shed, seal off a room in the basement. It took me a long time to accept that upfitting the garage was by far the best option from an ease and price standpoint. Not elegant, but very useful.

I obtained and installed a used furnace and I am insulating and dry walling the walls and attic. I got my furnace for free from my BIL...you can find them free or cheap on Craig's list.

I should be done just in time for the cold weather. Nothing fancy, but it will be awesome. The Misses is supportive because now her van will always be warm. Selling these ideas to the ladies is always helpful.

Yep build the shack. Farther away from the wife in winter. The cold walk is worth it!

I think we both could have gotten together in the planning phase. Take YOUR setup and install it in MY shack and that's about the dream area...

Deck with a propane heater has worked for me...except when it's in the single digits. Then I just chalk it up as a non-smoke day or go to a B&M.

Make sure to buy a older heater due to the newer ones don't put out much for heat for 1500 wattts

Look for a MARKEL Fan-Glo Heetaire 1500W Fan Forced Electric Heater 198TE USA MADE. It is a great heater!! Found mine on flea-bay for $70 but well worth the money. Found a second one for $5 at a swap meet.
