To the brothers.

I have been absent from the board for the last week. I got a call from my father last Friday, he said he needed to tell me something. And he hit me with the worst news I've heard in years. He told me that he had pancriatic cancer. I completely lost it, so I took care a of couple of things after composing myself a bit and then headed home. I got home Sat moring to find out all the details of what was going on.

Come to find out that he ws already scheduled for surgery on tues of this week. So tuesday came and he went into surgery, it laste almot 7 hours. The surgeon told my brother and siste and I that surgery went very well and the got all of the tumor. But to be honest with everyone, life expectancy of pancriatic cancer survivors are only 3-5 years with chemo and radiation. And less if just chemo or no treatment at all.

So I thought since I had such a great group of brothers here you guys should know.

I have had a hard time coming to terms with the thought of loosing my father and also my best friend. especially after loosing my mother to cancer 13 years proir.

My Mom is a cancer survivor despite the odds, so have hope, but dam man! I feel for you. My heart and prayers are with you all the way. Hardest part for me with her was during the whole ordeal I was hurting, but always felt I had to be strong for everyone so never let it out. I'm glad to see your sharing it here, I wish I had been a part of this back then, I could have used the help. Anything you need let us know.

Thanks guys, I have to say one of the hard parts for me is knowing that my father is God honestly ok with the whole thing. He told us kids this weekend that he has live his life well, and has done almost everything he's wanted to do, and has watched his kids grow up to be good adults. So he says he is ok with it.

I don't want him to suffer at all so I understand how he feels. but it is still hard knowing that time is now limited with my dad.

Having lost both parents and one to cancer I do understand what you are going thru. Your Dad sounds like his head is in a good place so that is great. You and your family will be iin my prayers.
