Tom, do you have any recommendations for a nice whiskey in the $75-$100 range?
Well, he's a Buffalo Trace fan so...It's so subjective, Matt, I need to remember that not everyone likes Fire Water like I do.
Knob Creek 9 Year is 100 proof and oaky smooth and has that Beam peanut hint.
Wild Turkey Rare Breed and Kentucky Spirit have a little more punch and the Turkey funk.
Elijah Criag Barrel Proof if he likes a super flavorful kick to the face.
Seriously, the more you tell me about his general preferences the better recommendations iI can make.,
So a bit lighter on the proof. Matt. These are tasty easy drinkers. I'm sure a couple others have some good ideas too.Well, he's a Buffalo Trace fan so...
Last time he was here he bought a bottle of Yellowstone.
That's probably no help.![]()
Really debating this one Tom, I saw it was grocery store liquor store for $209 in Kentucky last week. Grabbed an Eagle rare at msrp.
Matt, call around because Buffalo Trace shouldn't be that difficult to find at MSRP.Well, he's a Buffalo Trace fan so...

It's a good one, Chase, back and forth whether I like this or Booker's Reserves more. I don't think $209 is outrageous, I think I paid around $179 for mine?Really debating this one Tom, I saw it was grocery store liquor store for $209 in Kentucky last week. Grabbed an Eagle rare at msrp.
And the day after I say that, Binny's drops a single barrel pick at a good price. So yeah, I lied.I had the Journeyman at the American Legion where my GF fills in at the bar. Interesting, I'd drink it again but probably wouldn't buy a bottle.
