Tom, do you have any recommendations for a nice whiskey in the $75-$100 range?
My son is coming out here and he loves whiskey, so I'd like to surprise him with something.

Knob Creek 9 Year is 100 proof and oaky smooth and has that Beam peanut hint.
Wild Turkey Rare Breed and Kentucky Spirit have a little more punch and the Turkey funk.
Elijah Criag Barrel Proof if he likes a super flavorful kick to the face.
Seriously, the more you tell me about his general preferences the better recommendations iI can make.,

I picked up an Old Forester 1924 from Binny's yesterday. I'm finding I'm not a huge OF guy and may use this one for trade bait.
Opened up an old Booker's (Kentucky Tea) last night. A bit hotter than I remember, I'll hope this one mellows a touch after being open a while.

It's a good one, Chase, back and forth whether I like this or Booker's Reserves more. I don't think $209 is outrageous, I think I paid around $179 for mine?

And the day after I say that, Binny's drops a single barrel pick at a good price. So yeah, I lied.I had the Journeyman at the American Legion where my GF fills in at the bar. Interesting, I'd drink it again but probably wouldn't buy a bottle.
