How do they compare to the unicos? I have never tried the smaller VR's. Had s HDM E#2 on the way into work. Nice way to start the day.
I am a lover of smaller gauged smokes. With that said, IMHO the larger gauged VR's smoke a bit better. I like the VR's with age alot. You can't miss with any of them. I'm a clasico man but hey that's just my preference.

The familiar is milder and more subdued, IMO. Pretty much the same VR taste but not as in your face.

Just now smoked Clay's mystery cigar that he beat me down with. Now trying to figure out what it was. I can tell this much, was a very good medium woody flavored stick that lingered on my palete for a very longtime. I have to measure the length from the other one he sent, first impression would be an 01 JL #1. But I think was longer than that, more like 6.5x46RG? :dunno: Thanks. Don't tell me yet, I need to think it through.

After a couple of days off to let my taste buds revive, I jumped back in to the madness with an HdM Petite Robusto. Taste buds are fine, and so was the HdM.
Thoroughlly enjoyed this fat little guy -- just the right size for my return. God, but it's good to be back.

I think, after this episode with my taste buds that I'll try to stick with smoking a nice cigar every other day. Give the old buds a day off, to recover.

Mike

After a very grueling week at the local Army Airfield testing our sensor system I took my team to Shelly's in DC and I provided the smokers in the group with some outstanding HdM des Deuix's.

Very nice time was had by all...to the tune of about $100 per person...gotta love expense reports.

Do you get to expense the cigars also? I would think you should.

Line item #4. 6-Cuban HdM des Deuix Cigars, cost $6 each for $36 reimbursement. That would be great.

I got up at 5:15, but it's because of work. Even if I don't have to work, I rarely sleep late anymore. I'd still be up around 7:30 :dunno:

Just a terrible tasting NC Partagas. I put it out before half of it was gone and about set the pool's trash can on fire in the process. I'll have to bust out something good for the weekly poker tourney tonight.

Started the day with a late morning Hemingway Short Story. If the mail has arrived, I am thinking an MC #2! If not, probably a Siglo III from '02.

pre-85 SLR Lonsdale. Very nice...kids & the Mrs. were out shopping so I was alone and able to really sink back in my chair and enjoy the weather with a really good cigar.

Well met up with some friends today and I started the afternoon off with an '01 Partagas Lusitania and then followed that up with an '01 Cohiba Piramide EL. Two very nice smokes. The Lusi was mild and following it up with the Cohiba Piramide was good since my taste buds where still very fresh and good for it.

I do four big trade shows a year and I bring a box to each show. I expenses the box and smoke or gift to vendors the few that are left over. Its the only time I like the IRS.
