I have heard a lot of nevative reviews on the Cohiba Red Dot. Truth is, imo, they are a solid smoke albeit overpriced. I smoked a bunch of these 3 years ago when I was newer, would still smoke them now. Nuts and wood is how I recall them tasting. I remember it was the first stick I ever nubbed and was impressed how the flavor did not deteriorate til the very end. The Cohiba Black Red Dot is also damn good in spite of a tight draw.

It called personal preference. Wisdom would say they still make the Red Dot, so someone must buy them then.

Decided to go for something, that had been sitting a year, E.P. Carrillo - La Historian, it a long Box Pressed 6.7" X 54 RG masterpiece. This is number 1 out of a box of 10 I snagged off CigarBid for like $50.00. Almost too pretty to put on fire. Well constructed, good looking Cigar that was straight cut. Cap area was tight, than thanks to Dr. Rod his invention fixed the drawn problem.

After the Cigar was toasted evenly it burned nice & even, with sametrical ash fas formed. Flavor profile in Medium - Strong attention getter with a hits of some sweetness, nuts, coco, coffee, and chocolate.:cigar: Nice stick with my morning black coffee.

E. P. Carrillo is the guy who started the La Gloria Brand in Miami, sold it to General, and is now doing his own line. Seem to be ignored by man of the B.O.T.L. Members. Why I do not know as Earnesto Carillo know how to make great Cigars IMHO.(y)

If you have not tried Mr. Carrillo Cigar you should try, and pick up a few they are a Cigar that seem to be ignored by many for some unknown reason.

Those look good. I plan to try a few when I see a deal. What kind of Cactus is that in the background?

It called a Hedgehog Cactus, blooms only once a year. It honestly has not come to fully glory, it is just starting to bloom. I would guess it has over 150 buds ready to explode with color.
My dad and I can both attest. Both hedgehogs and Cholla cactus are absolutely brutal if you inadvertently walk into a stand while hiking in the desert. That one you have is positively gorgeous.

YES!!! What did you think, Bob?
This one was the Vainqueur in the Aviator series. It was very enjoyable. I thought it was a very interesting aromatic smoke, with some pretty unique flavors. There was one floral or aromatic flavor that kept popping up that I just couldn't figure out. Which in the series have you had? Are they similar to this one, flavorwise?

I have had all 4 vitolas (Envoi [Robusto], Cochon Volant [Figurado], Vainqueur [Toro], and the Grand Pyramide) and the Envoi is by far my favorite. Then the Vainqueur and the Cochon Volant. Didn't care much for the Grand Pyramide.

Well I going to share a little secret, La Estrella Cubana it a bundle Cigar apprently rolled by General Cigar in Nicaragua. Comes in four sizes, Torpedo, Rubusto, Toro, and Churchill. The Band art is not fancy, it is generic, but the Cigar is a winner IMHO. Well constructed, Medium Blend with a Maduro Wrapper. :) Burn nice & even, and forms up a nice even ash.

Problem is apprently they are out of production. :( This is a really nice stick I know there is some inventory around in a couple of places. :cigar:

I have about 100 resting, and they are just a good price point stick. :cigar: Like I said if you can find a bundle snag it before they are gone. Snag some, you should not be disappointed. :)

Can not believe they stopped rolling this stick, I would call it a BIG LOSS.
