The past few weeks have been busy.
Multiple interviews, ghosted by recruiters, hit up by head hunters, and possibly a few solid offers.
Oh, I’m still employed, just way underpaid, so don’t worry.
There is one promising lead. It would allow me to keep paying into my pension plan, great low-cost benefits, and qualifies for student loan forgiveness.
However, it’s an hour drive each way and I would have to be on-site 2, maybe 3, days a week.
I’ll most likely need a few more cigars to ponder this over…
Been there before. I will say this: there is rarely a clear-cut "right" decision. Sometimes the ugly duckling turns beautiful, sometimes it gets even uglier, and sometimes the shiny thing really is a diamond after all. But, as long as the decision you make is made with honorable intentions and for the genuine betterment of you and your loved ones...stand proud and sleep well at night.

That said...can always find a good podcast for the commute. :D

It’s always nice hearing from you!
Thank you for sharing valuable insight.
In regards to the public sector job, they did discuss their growth plan for me; Lead Project Manager for an Oracle ERP Cloud migration now, Senior Project Manager in 5 years (or less), and Program Manager once their number of projects grows to need an overall Program to preside over the projects.

Oracle eh?! I worked on two projects for Mr. Ellison on Lake Tahoe. Very interesting group of people. My brother-in-law currently works security for him.
Good luck with your search @Mr.Draned!

Wow, that is very cool!
May I ask what kind of work you did for those projects?

They are gaining traction in the public sector with their ERP Cloud product, as I know of several other large districts making the shift.

As of now, most school districts are running some form of legacy software and still maintaining records, budgets, etc via spreadsheet uploads and other antiquated method
In addition, the cost to house and maintain servers adds up over time, and having all that dealt with off-premise, by Oracle, is a huge selling point.

I’m hoping to continue to grow my Oracle ERP Cloud skillset and knowledge, and in turn, increase my salary and ability to lead large-scale migrations.

Welcome! Holy hell, I love it when a job lays out a growth plan with clear-cut metrics and timelines. That’s good stuff.

What a good stick. @BloodWood sent me one last year and I was impressed enough to immediately buy a 5-er to age a bit. It's been roughly 6 months and this is the first of that 5-pack. So many flavors here. I'm picking up these almost...Blanco tequila/agave type notes this time around as well. So blown away have I been with EVERY damn Rojas cigar I try that it is to the point where I'll just immediately blind purchase every release from him.
