I'd potentially be interested, Brooks, depending on the MSRP price, and if one could choose a flavor "profile" so to speak. For example, I love me some Liga Privada and Tatuaje, but don't really enjoy mild smokes.

Interesting idea...but isn't the point to try something new that you never would have picked up otherwise, and potentially be surprised at how good it is?

What I have always loved is getting together 5ish people, and sending each one of them the same cigar (say, 5 different ones) unbanded, and everyone reviews it on the same thread...

Hmmm...That actually sounds like fun, I am willing to send cigars from my stash, if anyone is interested? I would get together 5 different cigars/sizes/manufacturers, and see if anyone can guess...Each person would pay MSRP prices for the sampler, and there would be some rare/htf in there...

a whole fiver is too much for most to commit for a review & guess the smoke deal
so for maximum appeal, a # variable along with a size preference maybe ?
like in my case, i now smoke pc's but have a ton of long napped robos. and am cool with sending a 2fer..

All do respect Brooks, you should probably start your own thread. The OP wanted to get a trade going with people and you chimed in here wanting to sell your cigars. Good and fun idea, but it's taking away from this thread.

I guess it would be beneficial if a mod could determine where something like this belongs. Individual threads in the ISO/Trade section, here, reviews, etc.

Also, as much as I would love to be able to run this whole thing... I created this thread to see if there was interest or not. With a crazy semester this fall, I wouldn't be able to efficiently run a trade thread.

Why call it a unbanded trade. Cigars will still have to be rebranded with blanks so both parties have a indentifier to accurately review/guess each cigar.... Fwiw I think boundaries are always a good idea. Keeps the sour feelings out of a trade between the 2 parties. Have a total msrp for all five cigars. 50 dollars max. 25 dollars min. If a guy sends out 5 $10 sticks it's his gamble and should know it was just the brotherly thing to do. If he sends out 25 it hasn't broke his bank but will still have a good selection of standards and premiums included. Many possibilities for both those ranges IMO.

I also like this idea. Set a limit of how many sticks and total msrp so there is no way of telling if one is expensive or not.

Honestly, this opens too many what if's. The reason the non-newbie blind trade works out is because it's essentially a bomb pairing. It opens too many can of worms being unknown but I will continue to be convinced otherwise. I see no problem in private blind trades however since the rules are set amongst yourselves.
