I think everyone took my post out of content. The point I was trying to make, is that he is rolling out what I believe to be decent at best cigars, out of a factory that has a reputation for making quality smokes. I never said that Raicas Cubanas was sh!t. I would never say that Illusione is my second favorite brand and is one of my daily go to smokes. I also did not call anyone "douchebags" either. Just because his smokes come from that factory does not mean that they are in the same league as others. That was the point I was trying to make.

There should be a BOTL template for these threads.

"insert LE cigar here"

"insert bitching about Andre vs. Pete"

... repeat ad nauseam.

Oh wait we do, it's the countless other threads on this topic.

Not sure what your intent was, but it was clear what you wrote saying the maker of Viaje isn't comparable to the heavyweights of the industry.

I guess the reason I believe he will not be in the cigar world for a long period of time is because he is not working with Padron, Fuente, Pepin, Guillermo Leon, Litto or anyone else with a name that carries a lot of weight. Just my $.02.

You flat out said he isn't working with anyone that carries weight... so what else should we think you meant?

I did say that. Who blends Viaje cigars? I don't know if anyone mentioned the blenders names, just Andre. My apologies, Sorry OP I have made to many posts on this thread that were off topic.

I have met Andre before and I try not to put him down in most of these threads but I had a completely different opinion of him. I didn't get cigar maker out of him as much as a career salesman. That said there are many other brands made by Don Pepin that no seems to complain that they don't blend their own cigars.

I haven't met Andre yet, will hopefully Friday, and Pete, I've known for years before "rock star" status. And you're right, when it comes down to it, they are both salesmen and avid cigar smokers/enthusiasts. They both basically have hired and or partnered with rollers who are the actual so called "makers" They both blend and experiment with different combinations and produce what they think will sell and what they like. I don't see why there is so much dislike of one or the other or both. Pete's got a loyal following because he goes out and meets with his "fans" and puts out a good product. Andre doesn't do as much of the meet and greet kind of thing and thats his prerogative, he still puts out a good product. They both produce some great sticks and some not so good. Personally, I like a few of Petes and a few of Andres and not a fan of some of both. Believe me, the Padrons and Fuente's are rolling their eyes watching how crazy people go over these LE's, from both camps.

They remind me of a guy named Tony Borhani who was like them last boom. His stuff was the "have to have" stick at the time. then the boom ended and his sticks started being in tobacconists blow out bins. We're lucky to have guys like Pete and Andre competing and putting out interesting smokes. I have to laugh when I see the Andre's copying Pete's ideas thing. First off, who cares, Pete likes monsters and Andre likes explosives. There is always a way to make something look like another or be associated to some extent. Case in point for example, the headless horseman (hmmm Pete you reading this ;) ) --Andre comes out with the molotov cocktail, throws it at the horseman who's head blows off. See now that would be a cooperative pair of smokes.

OK, just babbling now. Can't everyone just get along.. G1

Wish Pete would com around here sometime, seems like a cool guy. I would like to meet him.

I totally agree, who really cares whos copying who or whos rolling what? What matters is if it tastes good. Steve Jobs didn't make his first circuit either...Wozniak did.

The reason Borhani cigars went south is because he lost one of the best roller/blenders on the planet Don Douglas. Once he went with Perdomo his sticks tasted like sh!t. I still enjoy the old blend white and gold label. The point being if Pete or Andre lost thier roller/blender I'd think they'd be in the same boat......imho.

I read the entire thread...and still don't know why "Viaje" copies "Tatuaje"....in what sense? (Remember I don't get both in my country, so no one knows Viaje or Tatuaje cigars lol)

I just read that and had a good laugh, then i read the rest and realized the first half of your post was not a joke.

People are saying that the Stuffed Turkey is a lot like Tats Meat series (like the Pork Tenderloins). Both have to do with meat.

Just picked up a handfull of these at the B&M.
This is no nub. 5 x 58-60. Don't have a ring gauge handy but just compared it to a 52 and it's huge.

depending on how much is drank this Thanksgiving I can probably post a quick overall review. No chance on a full review until a future time. My B&M only got 1 bundle of these and he was hiding them in the back.
