holy crap thanx guys, I really appreciate all your comments
Sascha, like I said in my PM, you should think about what I and Tazman said, your work will sell, and fetch a good price. Look at the touristy shops, those people have more money than they know what to do with.

You do great work my friend, and I knew I wasn't the only one who thought so!

the problem is time. online is another option, but once you start browsing turning sites, you'll see there is a lot of talent out there.

also check

check under norfolk pine

and the master himself

I have been trying for years to get Norfolk Pine from hawaii, but it's hard. I could make so many cool pieces from that, I usually get mine from Florida, much denser and darker in color

the translucent bowls take from start to finish between 4-6 weeks to make.

once turned to about 1/8 of an inch the are submersed in a danish oil mix 24 hours then pulled out and wet sanded, dried for 24 hours and after that submersed again. I repeat this process about 15-20 times so those bowls are submersed in the oil mix well over 400 hours until translucent.

but I also love carving bowls after they are turned.
I havent had time to turn much, but soon I will start again.

you guys are very kind

I've got a friend that just moved out to Hawaii. What would it take to get that stuff shipped?

If you did want to do it full time, I'm sure you could get the stuff shipped oceanic. Would be less than air freight, but would take some time. You would probably want to get a bunch at a time, too.
