3's, petite Edmunds, &petite#2s are my favorites so far from Montecristo.
The #2's I've had are o.k., but from what I've read from people I expect alot more. I just haven't had a great one.
I have some buried that I try every year or so. They smell and look awesome, hopefully they will come around.
Montecristo is by far my favorite marca and what I smoke the most of.
In my opinion, you really can't go wrong with any of them, even the much maligned Open line, as i like the Open Regatas and Open Masters as well.
Surprising you haven't enjoyed a no.2.
I smoke recent production (2019-2021) all the time and love them.
To be fair, I haven't had any aged ones, so I have no idea if they will get better for you,.
also, I personally don't think aged cc's are any better than recent production ones, just milder and different, but not better, so after smoking all 50 or so aged Cigars I was generously gifted from a number of people, some were bland and unenjoyable, while others were very tasty and flavorful.
It really seems like a crap shoot as to how age will effect something.
Same results with the vintage 1940's and 1950's I had.
I have no plans to ever bother aging anything of mine, and wouldn't seek out or pay extra for aged cc's.
I definitely seem to be in the minority in my opinion of aged cc's though.
Hopefully you will enjoy them once they have some age, but if not, there is no shortage of other great Montecristos out there.
Interesting that you like the petite no.2's but not the no.2's. I would have thought they were the same Blend, just a different size.
