I'm an Occupational Therapist and work as a Regional Manager for a rehab company. I've been happily married for 16 years and have 2 school aged children which I fondly introduce as Alpha and Omega. I enjoy motorcycles and am a proud owner of an Indian Chief. My current hobby is building vibariums and raising PDFs (poison dart frogs). I'm taking a hiatus due to an injury (severe elbow tendonitis--I guess I'm getting old) but I'm also active with weightlifitng and cycling.

Regards,

Vulcan

I am Nick and I am 20.

I have been working at the local country club restaurant for over 3 years. Started as a dish washer, then inventory staff and closing was added onto my title. Then the day I hit 18 I became full time chef. Shortly after I was added to banquet staff for more hours and work any job when people called in sick. Now I am a full time chef in the summer and banquet manager. Nothing says fun like working 17 hour shifts Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. But making 51 hours in 3 days brings in a lot of money.

During the "working week" this past summer I was an authorized commercial building installer for DirecTV. I got paid to go on skyscraper roofs in Seattle and Bellevue and install the dishes then run miles of wiring. I then installed all of the hardware equipment in the electrical rooms.

Here is a picture of a small electrical room set up. This is a single chassis set up, some rooms I installed up to 7 of these chassis.

And here are some of the roofs I worked on. Smallest was 28 stories I believe, tallest was the tallest building in Bellevue. Not sure on the height but the pictures don't do it justice. Being the only person not afraid of heights and only person who has skydived I had no problem sitting on the roof eating lunch looking at the unbelievable views.

Besides working 2 jobs and being a college student I don't have too much fun time. When I do have some spare time I go wheeling or shooting.

Great thread.

I'm a consultant for a company that makes business and patient management software for rural and critical access hospitals. Plenty of travel, and I hope to spend more time exploring local B&M's in the future.

Married 3 years and just had our first child (a girl) in August. I've never had more fun in my life. In my spare time (the quantity of which has become increasingly small lately) I play and coach volleyball, go on backpacking trips and hope to begin kayaking this summer (sea, not whitewater) so if there are any fellow 'yakers out there feel free to say hello!

I actually started smoking a pipe first and cigars have taken over. I usually enjoy 1 or 2 on the weekend.

I work as a salesman in a tobacco shop in Pittsburgh where we sell a great deal of smokes. We just aren't online... yet.

I knew a lot about pipes and cigars when I got hired 5 months ago, but I've learned a great deal since then. I've made a bunch of friends at this job and have met a few guys who blow me out of the water knowledge wise. I consider these friends to be extremely valuable, not only for the information that they have, but because they're so open and kind.

For the last four years, I've been working as a professional sound designer and engineer for theatre. I've designed standard plays and musicals, worked with small local bands, and assisted some bigger names. It's been a fun ride. I'm still getting work in Pittsburgh, which is a plus, but considering how much I'm enjoying my job at the tobacco shop, I am seriously considering making a full time switch in career.

In my spare time, I like to hike, walk, camp, bike (weather permitting), and exercise (when I'm able to force myself off my fat kiester to do so). I also spend a lot of time looking at and researching pipes and cigars. I go through waves where I'm totally committed to smoking cigars and waves where I'm totally committed to smoking pipes, but whichever I'm in I always swing back to the other eventually. This swing in my smoking hobby really keeps things interesting. Right now, I'm at about 2 cigars a day. At the height of this swing, I was smoking 5 a day. As you can imagine, my humidor is quickly becoming empty. :(

So far, I'm really enjoying BotL and I look forward to being a part of this online community!

Well, as far as Jobs go, I'm a full time student, so I don't have a dedicated occupation (For what it's worth, I'm a psychology major and hope to get my Master's degree and then my Ph.D. in Psychology/therapy. My ultimate goal is to be in private practice Marriage and Family Therapy)

Currently I work several random jobs to keep money in my wallet and cigars in my humidor:
- During Football season I work at Brown's Stadium - I am a manager for concession stands and work Nachos, Beer, Grill, or whatever needs a manager/extra person. It's not too glamorous and the pay sucks (I work a minimum of 12 hours a day every Sunday, usually 14+ hours, and the most I've ever made is 97$... We get paid in tips, divided amongst all the workers) But I don't need much money considering I'm in college, rather than holding a house.

My other Jobs also fall under the category of hobbies:
- I'm a Strop maker - I make strops for straight razor users, and sell them on various straight razor forums
- I'm a razor restorer - I find old, dull, tarnished blades at antique stores/eBay and I buff them with greaseless compounds and rouges until they look new.
- A straight Razor honer - People send me dull blades, I make them Shave Ready and send them back

So, In that vein, My hobbies are straight razors, strops and their ilk, Cigars, the internet, video games, and building random brick-a-brack. I like to build things, but I don't have much of a talent for it.

Well, been lurling for a couple of days, but here it goes....

Married for 17 years, 2 kids, boys, 14 and 9, wife HATES anything that smokes....makes it difficult to enjoy the cigars, but we do what we have to.

BS in CJ, only used in conversation and poor legal advice.

Read as much as possible, write poetry, published several books of said poetry, play guitar, worked in IT for years, so now I'm everyone's friend that has a computer problem, now work as a lead person in a warehouse for a large plastics manufacturer that produces all plastics used by a company under "golden arches", and the red cups everyone uses at keg parties, smoked "cigars" from convenience stores years ago, quit, came back recently when a co-worker handed me a A.Fuente, now cigar crazy, learning everyday, came here to learn even more and from all I've read here, you folks are not only a great wealth of information, but a great bunch of people. Thank you for allowing me to, hopefully, join up.

I work as an executive chef/food services director and I am also director of housekeeping and laundry at a really great nursing home and rehab. I was educated at The Culinary Institute of America and I apprenticed at some killer restaurants including The French Laundry in Yountville, California.
I recently bought my (our) first home and we love it- big time. Having a great cigar on my deck completely alone with my thoughts last week was among the most satisfying experiences I have enjoyed so far. As a matter of fact, I have been smoking cigars for a few years- but not many of them- but now that we bought a home it has become a passion, a great release, a hobby, an obsession, and a way to find other Brothers- which has been amazing. Initially I was only going to smoke once a month when I paid our bills. Being a reformed cigarette smoker I have to keep the nicotine addiction in check....but then...I was like 'hey- it's the weekend! I should smoke one or two'...then it was like 'Mondays are tough- man do I need one and how!' So now I am detoxing a little and I am only going to smoke on weekends. I daydream about them.
I initially bought a 20 cigar humidor and filled it in minutes. I am awaiting a 200 count and that baby should be pretty full very soon. So far- in like 2 weeks I have amassed: A box of 601 Blue Maduro's, a box of Anarchy's, a 5 of the Federal 90th Anniversary pack, a bunch of Fuentes from many different years and styles, a little cc collection...oh hell...a bunch of stuff...it's hard NOT to buy them.
I was one of the crack heads that got in on the cheaphumidors.com error and bought 2 boxes and then cancelled my order the next day when I felt like crap about it. I learned a little about myself that night.
For other pleasures I enjoy golf, going to Phish shows, hiking, riding my Bianchi road bike, running, investing, and chilling with my girl and our German Shepard.
I am very happy to be here and you brothers are awesome.

Hello all, my name is Kameron and I'm 28 years old from the beautiful Sonoma County in California. I am a partner in a real estate development firm where we specialize in luxury senior living communities and large multifamily and commercial developements. I absolutely love what I do and have pretty much devoted every spare moment to my career for the last six years. I started smoking cigars about 8 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed the relaxation cigars provide. A good cigar and a nice single malt about once a week and everything seems to be ok.

My hobbies include collecting and enjoying cigars, wine, and single malt scotch. I also race formula fords which is great with Infineon Raceway so close and I'm trying to get as much traveling in as I can while I'm still single and without kids!

This is a great thread and it's been fun learning more about everyone on here. If you are anywhere near me, please send me a message. I'm always looking for fellow local BOTL's.
Cheers!

I am a full time firefighter / paramedic for the last 7 years. :dunno: if the name didn't give it away. Got my BS in Sports Medicine, worked in MLB for a bit until wife said no more traveling so I went back to emergency medicine. I have been married almost 10yrs. I have 3 beautiful kids (2 boys 8, 4 and a girl 2).

I enjoy trying all types of cigars along with trying different types of beers (Belgium beers are my new obsession), whiskey/bourbons (Jameson, Glenfiddich, and Balvenie top my lists). I am a lounge fly at The Burning Leaf in Plainfield IL. Enjoy hanging out with the others there. Other than those habits I enjoy hunting (deer and coyotes) and playing around with different types of guns. I love my AK-47! Other than that I am your typical boring 32 year old father of 3, meaning a reality show of me would last an episode or NOPE JUST AN EPISODE...

I was reffered by my friend Brutus here on the Botl's, and here we go with my introduction.
I'm a public insurance adjuster, I represent realestate property policy holders against their insurance companies on presenting insurance claims. Been doing that for 19 years after our family bussiness burned down in 1990. Love what I do and helping people with such bad situations like that.
I'm married now 6 years to an awesome lady. No kids but I will be a dad come june.
I have lots of hobbies from Skeet shooting, to riding my Harley. But in all of my hobbies it involves at least having a smoke with my friends.

i started smoking rum soaked crooks about 50 yers ago. Thru the years, while in the US Air Force, I graduated to different smokes, to include cigarettes and pipes. I used to have quite a pipe collection, but the first divorce took care of that. I spent 20+ years in the Air Force, then became a contractor to the Air Force, retiring from Computer Science Corp after 22 years. In the AF, I was an Electronics Cryptographic Tech. With several companies, ending with CSC, I was an Eelctronic imagery engineering tech. Now, I don't do much of anything, except play golf and whatever the third wife says. I do enjoy driving my 2009 Challenger. She is 14 years younger and is still employed, so many days leaves me with a list of things to do. I still have plenty of time to enjoy a good cigar, or even a cigar that is not so good. I've found pricemany times, is not important.
Luckily, there is a great smoke shop close by with experts to give me advice. I've smoked for many years, but have not acquired enuff info to be called knowledgable. I do know what I like, so I guess thats what counts. Hope to enjoy my time on this forum.

I'm a consultant Engineer, working as a consultant between our customers and our software development. You could say I'm the go between, I understand what they want and what we can give them and try to make both sides happy.

I also have a part time photography business that I've been running for the last 6 years. I'm going to be doing some still life cigar related work soon, I'll share it here when I do.

I have 2 boys that keep me busy as well. I coach them in Football in the fall, and sit in many gyms in the winter while they swim competitively.

Other than cigars, my release is my Yamaha FZ1. Speed is a great adrenaline fix, as is dragging a toe in the twisties.

I'm a buyer/purchaser for a waste truck body manufacturer. I've been with my gf for 3 years now and looking to settle down soon. I enjoy a good pint now and then, nothing in particular but I do enjoy a ice cold New Castle or Landshark. Some of my on/off hobbies of the past few years include: paintball, guitar, bowling, procrastination, sleep, and archery. I'm new to cigars and everything about them and learning as much as I can as I go!

30, newly married, I am a technical analyst for a company that supplies software to Truck and Automotive dealerships. I've played the guitar for a few years, listen to a lot of music, like sports (baseball, football, UFC, Boxing), and like to cook. I also watch a bit of TV and movies (mostly comedies...in case my avatar didn't give it away). I have been smoking cigars about a year, and got more serious within the past few months. Slainte!
