Just made a Maker's Mark old fashioned. Who knows where it will go from here, there are bottles all over the counter.

Had a conversation about this the other night at a bar. A buddy of mine had an Old Fashioned with Makers, I had one with Bulleit Rye. The bartender said he prefers rye as it is too sweet with Makers and Bourbon in general. Do you usually make yours with Makers? Ever make one with Rye Whiskey?

I prefer it with crown reserve but it just ran out and I have two fifths of makers to use up. I have never made one with rye, ill have to give it a try. It is really sweet with makers but still fantastic regardless.
