Some Molto Dulce in my new churchwarden that I've had for several months now and neglected to start breaking in for no good reason. I am loving this pipe

Got a new MM curved Diplomat and a few oz of Trout Stream from PnC in a shipment yesterday. On the porch with my dogs watching the rain come down and smoking a pipe for the second time ever. Oh heck, this Trout Stream is good. May have found a new vice for accompanying me on fishing expeditions.

Good lookin pipe. I'm a fan!
Thank you! I got that one and 2 other no name pipes for something like $50 combined form pipesandcigars.com a while back. Took a chance and didn't have a clue what I was getting, but very pleased with the churchwarden. It's made by Casillero in Germany and it's nothing fancy but it's a damn good smoker

Nothing glamorous just cleaning some cobs and testing a few samples

Still Lovin mclelland wilderness

Then some c&d safe harbor too peppery/ burly for me will go into the trade/gifting pile

Then some 09 penzance.... I wasn't a huge fan before but this bowl is sublime

Spring strong sweet tall green grass grow...

Getting caught up...
Rounded out the week with a few days of Stonehaven, in the Sav 315 Series III, Sav 320 Vaniglia, and Brigham Voyageur 136 respectively.
I opened a bag of this to send out samples for the BOTL baccy pass last winter, jarred up the remainder, and forgot about it. While cleaning out the spare room last week I did a little cellar organization and realized I was yet to try this myself! I spun open the lid, popped the top, and was consumed by the heavenly aromas of rich dark chocolate and dried fruits. Perhaps plum, or fig? This really got me excited to try my first sample, but the smoke was nothing like the unlit experience. It seemed quite bland, dry, and even had some of the pepper/spice I would attribute to Perique, although I don't believe there is any in the blend.
The first experience was a bit off-putting, but I attribute some if it to my misconception of what I was getting due to that magical tin note. It grew on me as I continued with it through the week, and I look forward to revisiting it down the road with a fresh outlook. (but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if I caught myself cracking that jar now and then just to take a whiff! :) )

I find stonehaven to be quite sweet. Is it possible the perique had ghosted your pipe? It is a good blend, maybe not worth the hype, but defiantly give it another shot.

yeah, stonehaven was, to me, about the subtlety and the balance. it isn't all fireworks and explosions, and you can miss shit if you are distracted (like with a ghosted pipe). mayhap a meer next time? or just buy a new cob. o)

Can't say I've developed the ability to tell if my pipes have been "ghosted" yet I have a hard enough time just picking up on the flavors or lack there of at times........

Enjoying a little sg best brown flake in another cob

Had a little 1792 earlier my 2-3d bowl outta a sample just doesn't seem to suit me
