ok guys, since I have retired from competetive bodybuilding and dont really take my powerlifting meets that seriously, I ordered a pair of running shoes to try and get motivated to start running a little bit. Nothing crazy, just want to do something good for my heart and maybe drop a few lbs for my wedding in June. Still gonna keep lifting heavy on my routine. I figure even though my bodyfat % is right where it should be, being 5'7" and 222lbs is eventually going to start putting strain on my heart and joints.

My week is all messed up due to getting immunizations on Monday...arms felt like they had been beaten severely Monday night and most of Tuesday.

Tuesday - moved legs to here
Wed - Chest, shoulders and Triceps
Tonight - Back and Biceps

On February first, I bumped myself from 3 times a week to 5. But I've had to stop running lately (Doctor says that, yep, gave myself shin splints. Not too severe, but enough to stop running for a few weeks+) So, I've relegated myself to free weights and stationary bike.

My current routine is, every day of the week, bike for 20 minutes (with a resistance of 6-8) so I get 8 miles, then spend a half hour doing free weights on my upper body, then finish with 10 more minutes biking - 4 miles.

I'm still fairly out of shape, so this has me sweating like a pig, but in the last month I've dropped around 7-10 pounds, so it's gotta keep going!

EDIT: Also, eating less, eating better, and drinking a LOT of water. Feelin' good!

Made it to the gym last night for legs. I seriously don't think there's anything worse than going to the gym after work when it's busy.

Hit it up again this morning before work for chest and biceps. Swapped in DB flys for decline bench and my whole upper body is sore now

Funny thing. I went from competitive bb to powerlifting. Did my last meet in 2007 in the 198 class because I didn't' want to drop to 181. Always floated around 190. Hopped on the scale this morning at 197 so Im not too far gone lol. I actually just did 30 min on the treadmill this morning for the same reasons. With the diet I'm on, I'll probably be able to settle out around 190 in 4 weeks or so. G1

Lets do a meet together! LOL

I really dont look like I weigh 220ish. People guess around 190 til I get on a scale. I hide it well beneath baggy shirts and pants. Plus I have little arms.

Due to the alcohol intake during last night's game, I left my car a few miles away at a friend's place. Jogged there this morning and did around 70 pushups.

I intend to get in a real workout tonight but I'm not sure if that'll happen or not. I really hate working out in the evening...
