Well that would make sense. I just was in shock that it came to me so dry. And it seems like I have issues rehydrating. Unless I'm just dumb. Might just make a new thread or search for an older one and go from there on it. I don't want to derail this more than I already did......
The best way I've found to rehydrate dry pipe tobacco is to place the tobacco in a large bowl. Something with a wide bottom and wider mouth. Then, get a towel and soak it with hot water. You don't need to worry about using tap water because the water will never touch your tobacco. Hot water seemed to work well for me as well. Also, your towel should be larger than the opening of your bowl. So now that your towel is hot and wet, drap it over the mouth of the bowl making sure to cover it all and also making sure the towel doesn't slip in and touch the tobacco.

Let it sit like this for a couple hours to overnight. Check it as often as you like. When your tobacco is moist enough, jar it up and enjoy. If it's too moist, just let it sit out a bit and dry back out some.

Very easy to do, and no damage to the tobacco and little risk of over hydrating I think. Give it a shot and let me know how it works for you.
