Smoking a full size Jason tonight. This is my favorite of the full size monsters (haven't tried Hyde yet and probably will never have a Frank). This one keeps getting better with time. A great buy if you can find them still quasi near MSRP. #MonthofMonsters

Revue de Cigar Rapide: Tatuaje The Mummy "Revue de Cigar Rapide is a short summary format that is used in lieu of the longer, more thorough review. These are usually used when a cigar has already been reviewed, possibly in a different vitola, but where a score will still be assessed." I reviewed the Tatuaje Mini Mum earlier in the month, yes, for review sake it is merely a different vitola."

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Sun Grown Criollo Esteli
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Vitola: Churchill+ 7.75 x 47

Tatuaje The Mummy was the 5th Release in Tatuaje's coveted Monster Series. It was released to much fanfare in October of 2012. There were 666 dress boxes, and yada yada yada dot dot dot. It was arguably the best release of the Monster Series. It may be hard to track these down but there may still be plenty on the secondary market. The blend was first introduced to the public in the form of the Mini Mum, which was included in the Little Monsters Sampler released in June or July or maybe even May of 2012. They both share the same exact blend and the same vintage of tobacco.

Now that that is out of the way let us get to it. The band is a light grey with a simplistic white Tatuaje that we've seen on The Brown Label just different colors. And blah blah blah.

Simply put I found this to be very similar to the Mini Mum only dialed back some and with a bit less complexity. Maybe it was the length. Where in the Mini Mum herbal notes played a huge part of the profile, The Mummy didn't introduce herbal notes until later on, so much later on that I could have smoked a whole Mini Mum before the herbal flavors popped up. Other than that it was similar, but like I said not so all there. I was getting some creamy nutty notes along with some cedar. It ended with Earthy pepper notes. It also got a little bitter. I was a little disappointed this year with the experience I had with The Mummy. It was far from bad but also far from a really good experience I had with it prior years, I actually was getting a little bored with it, and it needed quie a few relights. There have only been a couple times that I have smoked a Monster sized Monster series cigar in a time other than Octoberish. This was not a sample out of my box but was gifted to me from a dress box, therefore there was no cellophane on it for the past few years. Maybe this played a part, maybe I should light one up that has cello on it. Maybe not until next Oktober, Mini Mum you won it this year!

Had a few Pudgy last night. 2 Face and a Tiff.

Having a Pudgy Frank this morning. I'm not normally the slowest of cigar smokers but this is one you need to take your time on to let the flavors really shine. A lot of subtleties are hidden this glorious smoke.

Tatuaje The Jekyll

From My Notes
"Starting off with some great flavors. White pepper, dry wood, a sweetness, and some nutty notes. Draw is pretty tight, a bit too tight and that is producing an amount of smoke that is well below average. I get a bit of sour citrus on the tongue. 2nd third sees an introduction of a chocolate, not dark yet not sweet or milky. It was so good during the first third and part of the 2nd third, but the draw really made it hard to deal with along with over 7 relights, this caused it to start get bitter around halfway down. I put this down way early, almost 4 inches left on a 7 inch smoke it. Could have easily been a 93 or even better had it not been for the draw. I'll be happy when I try it again if no issues arise."

This was really sad/upsetting for me. I knew this stick was delicious to me but unsmokeable.
