Been smoking cigars since 1980. My tastes are all over the map. Some things I enjoyed, I no longer do. But, there are some smokes that endure. I think that too many brands try to keep the same blend in a particular line, but the constituent tobaccos are not quite the same, so the cigars are actually different from year to year. A couple that have endured are the Punch Rothschild and the El Rey del Mundo Robusto. I have had sticks purchased in the past two years that transported me back to my college days in their flavor profile, amazing that they still are as so similar. I had the first of a box of ERdM Robustos while walking one day and I was just amazed, I hadn't had one in about 20 years, and it was like I was smoking one from ages past - wonderful.

Used to smoke a few Hemingway Short Stories, they are not what they were. It is disappointing.

The one thing that helped me refine my palate was smoking two cigars at the same time, that way it was easier to compare the flavors to each other and pick out the diverences.
