OK, i know it's not the 1st anymore, but i'm new here.

I got to enjoy several smokes over th weekend as we had a boys weekend at the cabin...beer, whiskey, cards and stogies.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Don Pepin 1979 Cuban Classic. I've been waiting on that one for a while and it was worth the wait. Smooth all the way to the nub.

Tried one of the Dunhill Signed Range Toros. Not bad. Ive got 3 left and they're going into the Smoke At Will humi.

Had a DC Maximus Robusto No.5 that was pretty good. Don't remember a whole lot about it...whiskey, cards, scotch.

And the highlight of the trip was the biggest disappointment...and Opus X Belicoso xXx, the Power Ranger. This is the 4th Opus I've had. It tasted great, had a great draw, the flavor was out of this world, but the burn was TERRIBLE. It ran like Carl Lewis on crack...all over the place. The ash was flakey. And it eventually went out on me a little over 1/2 way through while i was in mid draw. Talk about blue balls...I didn't bother relighting it as i was pertty pissed at that point. Luckily i didn't pay some crazy price for it. I've found a place in Pittsburgh that sells them at MSRP. i believe it was 10.50, definitley not more than $12.

I've had other Opus X and they've all been perfect, so this one was dissappointing. I've still got a few other sizes so i chalking this up to a bad stick. I can't believe Carlos would let that one get out of the factory.

None the less,it was a good smoking weekend and i enjoyed it.

This weekend might be just a Don Carlos No.3, which i already know is fantastic.

Started the morning off with a pot of coffee and a Macanudo Hyde Park. Then I went to the shop with my neighbor and had a Padron 5000 and a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero. I think the DL might be my new favorite. It was 75 and beautiful here in LA.
