I am 35 and spent 17 years in military and civilian law enforcement before recently retireing. The majority was spent working for a busy muniicipality 30 miles north of Baltimore. I worked uniform patrol, special operations and SWAT.

Now I live in PA and started Modern Combative Systems LLC you can check it out at mercop.com. Our concentration is on open hand, stick, knife and pistol within seven yards. I have three DVDs out and am pitching a book.

I now spend most of my time teasing my kids, Elizabeth 12, Frankie 8 and Emilie 6, and botheing my bride of 14 yrs Lisa. Outside of that I continue my training, researching and smoking alone and with friends.

I'm 33 and married. We have a 2 year old son. I live in Tupelo, MS. I graduated from University of North Alabama with a BS in Commercial Music. I am now a Network Engineer for a regional bank. But, I still love the music. The closest shop with a good variety is 50 miles, so I order about 99% online. The few shops here have a ridiculous markup. Oh yeah. I occasionally write a review for cigarjack.net.

18, HS student, got accepted to Purdue's engineering program, gonna be a ME.
I build robots, mod computers, go skiing, hunting, and fishing.
I can work a milling machine and a lathe with my eyes closed, can operate just about any power tool you can throw at me (sans tig welding), am an excellent archer, can downhill and freestyle ski with the best of them, I fish like a madman(done every kind 'cept deep sea- doing that next summer), do plenty of bow/gun hunting, and have an undefeated combat robot. I play lots of video games, one of my best friends is a photographer for a metal magazine so we get to hang out with rockstars sometimes, I love to travel (3 continents so far), and that's about it. This past summer I got a job machining custom Rolls-Royce parts. I really want to be a motorcycle or race car driver when I grow up, but then again don't we all. Oh yeah, I used to breed bettas (siamese fighting fish) but sold all of that stuff when I got into cigars.

My parents are extremely cool about cigars as my dad and uncles all smoke.

A couple changes in the past four years!
Didn't go to Purdue, but attended Kettering University (in MI) for a semester to do mechanical engineering. Also interned at Sandia National Labs for a little while, where I was on their Vehicle Systems Team. Really cool stuff, but decided to go back to CO for school and do business management. It was also convenient that the really good business school (Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado) happened to be where my girlfriend goes to! Well, I'm still here, and will graduate with my bachelor's in business management next winter (or maybe this spring if I can get into the right classes). My girlfriend is still with me after these few years, and we've got a nice little house with a couple roommates and a black lab/german shepherd named Keira, who is a little over a year old.

Still fish all the time, but I didn't get to go up to the mountains once this year. I started in January at a local (30 miles away, but that's close in CO!) cigar shop, so that takes up a bit of my time. I've gained a ton of knowledge on cigars in the past few years. Every day I try and learn new information about cigars, be it releases, legislation, the growing/curing process, etc. Gone overseas a couple more times, but it's been back to Europe (no new continents).
Fixing up an old '82 Suzuki, but I think I might just sell it and get a newer, running bike because I'd rather be riding than tinkering.

Oh and my '03 Forester will be completely paid off this October. Really looking forward to having a bit of extra cash!

Other than that, not much else has changed. I guess I'm not the youngest guy around here any more, either.
I also still want to be a monster truck driver when I grow up (if you can do both).

Interesting, my son in going to be nine and for some reason I see him as a tattoo artist or a chef. Hopefully chef, cause I like to eat, but then again I have a bunch of ink too;)

Good post here. Cigars are a conduit to meeting interesting people in all walks of life and it serves as a good starting point for conversations. I have met quite a few people in Cigar Lounges across the country and it's interesting to note that true cigar people are very nice and approachable and are very easy to talk with. I feel more at ease and trust them more than any segment of our society because they always walk the walk.

I am retired since 1996 where I was a Plant Manager/Safety Engineer/Human Resource Manager etc etc for about 25 years. I worked with Weyerhauser and was fortunate to travel domestically to many areas of the country and got to meet quite a few interesting people. As I said before, cigar people are by far the most interesting because they are laid back and look forward to seeing the best in others first. We all share the same vice and come from all backgrounds,,,we do not see the other person as a competitor and we pretty much are not impressed with how much money they make but the one key thing we notice right up front is their knowledge of cigars. I have been smoking for over 40 years and there are people who impress the hell out of me with their knowledge of cigars and life experiences.

Too many hobbies to list but I enjoy motorcycle touring, sports, golf which I don't play as much as I want to because I always shoot 85 regardless if I play everyday or once a year.

I work for a Beverage Wholesaler that deals with Anheuser-Busch Inbev and alliances, Modelo (Corona), Jones, and Monster. I make the nifty signs that lets ole Jim Bob know that 24 packs are on sale! I also make signs that help promote local events and "wraps" that cover whole walls at the local dive... you know so they don't have to repair/paint them! (When Dale Jr. moved on and had to do a lot of redecorating!)

When I'm not making signs, smoking cigars, or talking about cigars.... I'm playing Free Cell. I use too paint, but has had a major mental block since leaving college. I also have a vinyl cutter that I use to make decals for people as a hobby and for making extra cigar money. I do stuff for people's cars, otterboxes, etc... [/shameless promotion]

Just found this thread yesterday and have read most the posts. It is great learning a little about each of the brothers behind the avatars. So here is a little about me.

I am 52 years young (making me one of the older BOTLs here I believe) I have been married to the love of my life for 23 years. I have 2 girls 21 and 19. The older girl works in Austin, and plans to go to Australia in December to attend a Ministry School. The younger daughter is a Jr. in college (Stephen F Austin) studying Photography. She also plans to enter the Ministry.

I am a 1979 graduate of Texas A&M University (gig 'em Ags) with a degree in Architecture. Upon graduation I went to work for a General Contractor and have been in the construction industry for 30+ years. About two years ago I went to work for a REIT as a Construction Manager. We develop shopping centers across the Southern US from Florida to California. I moved to Phoenix a little over a year ago and manage the Western US. There is a good chance I will be moving back to Texas this year (Dallas) to partner with my cousin to develop some property in So. Dallas. I hope this happens as I really miss Texas.

Other than cigars the main passion in my life is motorcycles. I have been riding for about 30 years. The last ten years on Harleys. My favorite thing is to take long road trips. I have been to many rallies and went to Sturgis in '06 and plan to go again this year. I have been to the Republic of Texas Rally in Austin 5 years running and plan to go again this year. The first 4 times were no big deal as I lived in Austin at the time. But from Phoenix it is about 1,100 miles. I love it!

My only claim to fame is I am related to Wyatt Earp. He was my Mother's Grandfather's cousin. I am no cowboy by any stretch, unless you count my "Iron Horse".

I have been floored by the brotherhood in this forum. I have already been the recipient of several packages of fine cigars. (Thanks, Asher, Coolhand, Altercall and Dpricenator!!) I smoke about 10-12 cigars a week and purely enjoy them. I plan on a trip to Honduras in September to tour some cigar operations and I cannot wait.

I look forward to learning more about the art of the cigar form the Brothers here at BOTL!!

Great story as any time I see a fellow cruiser my ears perk up pretty quickly. I got you by a couple of years so not sure that makes me the oldest on here but you're only as old as you feel and I still feel like a kid mentally.

Regards,
Gary

Looks like a deeper version of the thread I just posted in. I handle marketing and PR for a small training software company in Largo FL. In my (spare?) time I coach football for the Countryside Jr Cougars, and am a fantasy sports writer. I've been published on CBS Sportsline, NFL.com, MLB.com, TalentedMrRoto.com and FantasySharks.com. I also do some small market radio and was the guest analyst with the Fabulous Sports Babe on 620 WDAE here in Tampa the Friday before the NFL draft.

I have four kids, divorced and not remarrying until I find a woman who won't bitch at me for all the cigars I buy, trade and otherwise acquire. Am a big Buccaneers fan, (did I mention I am a football maniac?) and have season tix to the USF Bulls.

I am also a internet junkie, since most of my daytime is spent on the net, buying advertising and such. I play World of Warcraft, America's Army and of course tons and tons of fantasy baseball and football. I do a lot of expert leagues and every once in awhile can be found in some of the magazines you buy at the newstands as one of the contributing experts. I sing a little karaoke once I've downed a tequila or ten, and generally like to rouse the rabble when I get a chance.

I'm a 50 years young sound designer for films, games, commercials and location based entertainment (theme parks, museums and such) living in Burbank, California. I've been happily married to the love of my life for 26 yrs. this December and have 2 kids, 19 yr. old son and 23 yr. old daughter. Came to California from Albuquerque New Mexico 22 years ago with my band to be rock stars. Oh, well...the music business wasn't what I hoped it would be anyways. Got involved with post-production sound 17 years ago and haven't looked back since.

When I'm not holed up in my big, dark, windowless room making weird, loud noises, I enjoy watching sports (LA Kings 1/2 season ticket holder),video games, making computers, playing my guitars, bar-b-queing out back, traveling when I can and of course, cigars. Used to be a pack-a-day cig smoker, now 2+ yrs. off the butt!!! I like a good scotch, gin-n-tonic, or just about any tasty drink in moderation. And I really like this site! Felt very welcome in the Introduction Thread! Looking forward to many good times here!

BTW, I'm thinking about attending the get together next month at the beach in Orange County, but might be too busy. Also gotta convince the wife to go.:lady:. What happens at those get-togethers?
