What does your spouse think of your cigar smoking?

I always ask this question to fellow cigar smokers. My wife thinks I'm crazy for starting to smoke at 40 years old. I've been smoking a little over two years. She's been pretty cool about it. Hasn't bothered me much about it but that's probably because she doesn't know how many sticks I have. lol. I do have to shower and brush my teeth if I plan to get next to her after I enjoy a smoke. What does your spouse think?

Same with me. I am 39 and she thinks it's crazy that I took it up at this age. She is cool about it, though. She really is a great gal. As long as I smell nice before crawling into bed with her!

I must say I think I've been blessed. My significant other is anosmic, which means she has no sense of smell. I just have to be sure to brush/rinse really well :grin:

Mine doesn't mind guess she's glad I quit smoking cigarettes. She thinks I have enough to last me a lifetime.. if only she knew.

Whenever my wife gets a little nonplused about my cigar buys I show her the George T Stagg thread and she says oh get get another box of cigars instaed.

Then I buy her a diamond.

Anyway, she doesnt mind me buying cigars as far as I buy her wine and scotch. As has been said, thank god she doesnt know how much these sticks cost lol

Same here..:chat:....on the back patio or pool deck, some drinks, playing cards, though she prefers the smell of the pipe over the cigars.

Being only 18, I don't have a spouse. My ex-girlfriend hated it. She hated the smell, she hated everything having to do with it. I believe that it was mainly because I started smoking AFTER we started dating, and she just didn't know how to deal with it.

My new girlfriend, however, has known me only in my cigar smoking days. She loves the smell, the quality time, and just the idea of the whole thing. As long as I don't touch a cigarette, which I promised her, and myself, I would never do. She loves the smell of the cigar and my cologne mixed...it just comforts her.

Being 21, no wife, no girlfriend. So I guess its all good for me. Parents dont care, they are fine with it since its my job anyway, haha. And when they dont know what to get me for my birthday/Christmas they just get me cigars.

She doesnt mind. She has no issue with me going to my favorite shop friday nights till 1am or when I go during the week. She just doesnt want me smoking infront of the kids. Money is tight with us so aslong as it doesnt effect the bills or needs of the kids she has no complaints.

I'm not married yet, but I live with my girlfriend. She hates the fact I smoke. I tell her I smoke 1 maybe 2 a week. I smoke 2 daily, I just make sure I shower brush teeth after each stick. Its a sickness.

My wife does not care she like the smell of some of my pipe tobacco's but hates english blends when I smoke them. She has a blast with the guys at the Chicago pipe show when we get to go. We have tons of stories from smoking and chatting til the late hours in the morning. I have got to to smoke a cigar and a pipe. Its not for here thought. I am just glad I can smoke any where in the house.

My wife tolerates it. She knows it relaxes me and I am in the 'zone' when I smoke. Heck, even a couple of years ago, she bought me a box for our anniversary.

Yeah my wife is the same way. Knows how much I like cigars, but tells me often how much she doesnt like the smell.
