I have a couple cains, and they are true decorations in my humi. I wouldn't even give those to someone I didn't like. They taste like dirt, and spin your stomach. What is the point of that. Hey I have an Idea, let's grab a couple tall boys of Steele Reserve Beer while we're at it. 8.9 % beer, that tastes like shit, but does the trick. No thanks.

I have tried them all, I say the Maduro is the better of them. But I tend to smoke more fuller bodied cigars so they just don't do it for me. They are not bad just not my go to. Also another smoke to try in the same size family would be the LFD 452.

Enjoy
Quite a few people around here dislike the Nub's, and I hear most complaints about the Maduro. I heard some say its way to woody and not enough flavor, but I really think it has a great Maduro flavor to it. The Maduro is my favorite of the Nub line. I like em all pretty much.

Maduro > Cameroon > Habano > Connecticut.

I am a fast smoker so the wider ring gauges help. I can go to town on a Nub. However the draw can be a little bit more difficult than a Robusto. The burn is usually spot on.

If its going to have a large RG then it must be around 4" or so. None of this 6x60 nonsense.

Even though I hate Nubs, thank you for posting this thread. It will give me a list of who not to trade with.
Hear that everyone...Mike needs some NUBS .

I know that NUBs are now being done without Sam, they're being done by a specific "task force" within Oliva called "Studio Tobac" (they're also taking over CAIN cigars). Oliva owns both Cain and Nub, they were just thought up by Sam Leccia... So Oliva is running the standard fare, and Studio Tobac will be their "new stuff" department.
I can't help but wonder how well things will continue though.

I expect they'll get on just fine... It's not like NUB had a proprietary secret or anything. Good tobacco, Good construction, stout sizes... That's about it.

I assume that Studio Tobac will probably be made of the people who already rolled Nub cigars, just without Sam Leccia overseeing it

I do not usually prefer the larger RG sizes. I have had a few Nubs, however. And I honestly enjoyed them. I cannot remember which wrappers I've had. I think maybe the Cameroon and the Habano. I think I still have a maduro in the humi. And I have not tried the Cain Nub.

Personally, I thought it wouldn't be that great of a cigar. I wasn't a big fan of the format. But, it turns out, I did like the ones I've tried!

I've had at least two of all the standard line. I went through a box or two of the Connors and a box of the maddies. Def my two fav of the line. I like the cammy also but didn't care for the habano.

All that said Ive kinda moved on to other lines.

I'm a fan of the NUBs. My regular some is an Oliva V double toro but when you don't have the time the NUB is perfect. I think the maduro is the best followed by the habano or cameroon. I don't like the torpedoes though, just cutting it you lose half the cigar.

So, I am a huge fan of the NUB cigars (Particularly the Cameroon and Habano), but I've noticed a trend of people disliking them... Some cite the taste as lacking, or the construction/burn as an issue...
I smoked a few when they were released and wasn't a big fan of the flavor...the Connecticut and Habano were just too mild for my taste. But anyone who says they have a construction or burn issue must have had ones that were improperly stored...the ones I smoked burned razor sharp, absolutely perfectly. The construction was top notch.

Smoked the Cain Maduro Nub this evening...or rather started to. Wasn't really any flavor to it and I chucked it not long after lighting. Probably the first cigar I've had to chuck so quickly. It's a shame too, I was looking forward to it.

My experience has been the opposite. I find that they burn extremely hot. The massive amount of burning tobacco makes it uncomfortable to hold and to smoke very quickly making an already short smoke even shorter. I actually enjoyed the maduro the best. That Brazilian wrapper is great, but the size is just too ridiculously big making it uncomfortable to draw on and they just burn way too hot in my experience.
