The reg padron maduro are great to age and are an outstanding value. I've never felt that the were constructed badly.

They are my No. 1 cigar for aging, as little as 6 months of aging makes them a damn fine cigar. I too have never had any "burn" issues with them.

A friend recently told me that he ages the 3000 for about six months and finds that they taste very similar to a 1964 at that point. Worth giving a try to find out.

how much better would they be if they were not wind tunnels? :cbig:
I'm going to have to agree with everyone else here. I'm not sure what kind of Padrons you are smoking, but "wind tunnels" would not be the description I would ever give them.

Please elaborate... Is this a consistent characteristic you have experienced?

I'm not sue if 6 months will turn a x000 into a '64, but Padron Classics are perhaps the most consistently well-constructed cigars on the market. I have never had a construction issue with them. Come to think of it, I've never had any issue with them.

Similar ... yes. But of course the 1964 has considerably more pepper, as well as body and strength. But the flavors of the regular line do become similar to the '64 with age, though I'd say more like 12-18 months. I have some Londres and 2000s that are 2-years-old now ... i.e. perfect :)

That's why I smoke the 4000 or 7000. Neither have ever been constructed in such a manner to me as to make me feel like the cigar is light as air like the 2000. In fact the 4000 is my go to smoke most days when I can get them.

Love padron. They're not pretty, almost half of them are crooked, patched, sloppy cap etc. But I've never had one that was plugged or underfilled. They always smoke great. Use a hole punch.

That means they are actually cigars :) It's the very reason I love them... not over processed, as tobacco should be.

Padron x000 are the 'ugly chick with a great personality' of the cigar world. They ain't much to look at, but man are they nice.

not speaking about the flavor or the burn . it's the loose draw I am talking about. how much richer would they be if there were more tobacco and a tighter roll, I believe they would be a lot more rich. I smoke the 3000's and the 5000's and have found the regular line in general to be to loose of a draw , still good flavor, but could be better with a better roll. there have never been issues with the high line stuff. I guess what I am saying is , make the regular line construction fuller with tobacco and less wind tunnel. It definitely effects a cigars flavors and richness when a cigar has a overly easy draw. does any one know of a size that has a nice firm bunch and a more resistive draw. love the cigars, but not the draw.:cbig:

These were some of the first smokes I started with and only recently had another. Reminded me of how much I love them, now I have to get enough to age. Thanks guys!
