How did you find BOTL?

Long before I joined my interest in cigars was full steam ahead. Each cigar I had or was interested in would be researched at length, mostly on the web. Often my searches would direct me here. Reading reviews, looking at photos and the very informative discussions about cigars.

What really caught my attention was the civility shared by all and how BOTL was a very unique community in that there are not many flamings, fights and the like. Everyone seemed sincere and glad to have a forum to share their mutual love for cigars.

After trolling BOTL for well over a year I decided to take the plundge and register. Its been five months now and I am glad to be here.

Im a member of some other forums and after searching around the web found BOTL. I have to say the best forum by far. Other forums im a member of talk more about politics and religion than cigars. Although i enjoy discussing a variety of topics my main interest is cigarsss! and BOTL has plenty of that!

I just one day was looking up cigar referance sites for reviews and info. I always look at a few of the top google hits, and BOTL was second or third on the list. I clicked it and found a review, then I read a couple posts and was hooked. To be honest, I have never liked forums or boards, but this really is HOME for me.

I started smoking cigars while living in New Orleans and working at the Cigar Factory New Orleans. It was great having a group of seasoned guys and gals who taught me lots about cigars, and we all kept each other up to date on the latest and greatest smokes.
After Katrina, we were all scattered about, and I moved back to MS. My love of the leaf never faded, but I wasn't up to date with a lot of the new releases, and I wasn't able to convert any of my friends past occasional smokers.
One day while reading the CI daily banter, I noticed a fellow Hattiesburger by the name of Stroke. I sent him a PM, and we met up for a smoke. He was a new member here, and he went on about how great it was. I had never even visited an online forum (unless you count CI's banter), but I decided to check it out. The rest is history. I'm not a frequent poster, but I am a daily reader here. I've met a lot of awesome peeps and gained a wealth of knowledge since I joined. This place is the greatest!

I got into cigar smoking just about 5-6 weeks ago along with my brother. He found this site and told me about it. Ironically, I don't think he has actually joined but I know he reads it quite regularly.
