I am 42 and have been married for 20 years. I have one grown daughter who moved to the East Coast. I work for a small county goverment and started smoking cigars about four months ago.

I enjoy golf, riding my motorcycle, bicycling and crossfit.

Oh well. Guess everyone cannot be as unlucky and in such a bad way as myself. What do you do other then smoke cigars and sit in front of the computer and talk about smoking cigar? Sadly, that is all I do. Oh, wait, I also bid on cigars in auctions to replenish my meager stock, usually around 120 sticks per month. Then again, being able to drink espresso and fire up a different smoke once every four hours is not all that bad. Actually, I love smoking. Any cigar will do, as long as it is free of any bitterness and does not offer a bad, rancid after taste. Mild, Medium, or Full. Once in a while I get lucky and score a extraordinary smoke. Maybe some day I will make the effort to try something different. But for now, I do what I do with no complaints.

Hey whats up everybody. I just joined up at the recommendation of a buddy down at the smoke shop. I work as an auditor for a CPA firm. I like to snowboard, wakeboard, hit the gym that type of stuff. Also spend a fair amount of time driving/maintaining my '69 Chevelle SS and also follow drag racing. I used to be an avid participant but not much time or $$$ for it anymore. Oh, I'm 26... hmm what else?

Started smoking pipes and cigars a couple of years ago and have been into it ever since. I'm by no means an expert on pipes/pipe tobacco/cigars but love being a student of the leaf per say.

Anyways, its good to be here amongst fellow brothers and I look forward to getting into the mix!

I always heard 95% of the lawyers give the rest a bad name!!?!!
Haven't heard that one before, but I suspect it's closer to 98%. ; )

So... I'm an attorney in Texas, and I run a small IT/Intellectual Property/Entertainment law practice catering to the local tech industry and the creative and entrepreneurial folks that seem to gravitate down here to Austin. Most days I have the pleasure of sharing the office with my father, who, apart from being a helluva guy, enjoys his "retirement" by working out of my office as a mediator, special judge and advisor to the TX legislature.

Most of my work involves counseling small business owners and artists on how best to protect themselves and their intellectual property assets, though recently I've been doing a lot more copyright infringement defense work. (Which reminds me: Put a password on your wireless network and stop using bittorrent! Seriously!)

I've been in Austin since '99, and I love it. Only place in Texas I'd want to live. Hope to some day spend some time in the Carolinas or the Pac NW, but for the time being, my licensure keeps me pretty well tied to TX.

As for other interests, I'm an avid homebrewer (no priming sugar for me, thanks... I keg), whisky collector, and a retired (if not "reformed") musician, but I'm glad that I still find opportunity to plunk around on one thing or another from time to time.

Nice to meet you fellas. Cheers.

Well, let's see. I am a good friend of Herfin' Harg. I am also an attorney and I handle mostly oil and gas matters in Midland, Texas.

I have been married for about a year and a half (married another lawyer, terrible idea). I have two dogs, a Basset Hound and a Brussels Griffon. The Basset is named Winston Churchhound, and the Brussels is Elizabeth.

Other than that, I am an avid drinker of beers and bourbons.

Looking forward to learning some things and having some good discussions.

How have I been here for over a month now and not seen this thread?

I am 23 years old and work as a Configuration Specialist for Aon. Currently engaged to a smokin' hot chick that I love to show off :) My have a huge interest in damn near everything. Golf, shooting, guns, knives, razors, dressing nice, drinking, reading...the list goes on and on. There just isn't enough time in the day to do them all!

I live right in Uptown Charlotte and love this city and can't believe how much it's constantly growing even in our "recession"

Hey Brothers,
I'm 38, married for 10 yrs to my beautiful wife and have two boys (5, 2) and live in Long Island NY. I studied fine art photography at The School of Visual Arts in NYC and have been a commercial advertising/editorial photographer for over 10 years now. Recently I partnered with a client/friend of mine to form a network of websites for men that revolve around the beauty of women. We are launching the first site very soon which will serve as the hub for all the other sites to come. FocusClick.com. It's basically an online magazine with multimedia centered around woman. No porn and no nudity. Think of it as a mature Maxim meets Esquire meets GQ meets Vibe. But we are injecting the glam model into mainstream media. I think the BOTL will enjoy it : ). I've been smoking for a while but seriously for the past few months. Read this site everyday. It's my standard for any and all info on cigars!

Thx guys.

Jeez, how time flies. Wrote the following almost 7 years ago.

I'll jump on this, good thread John! (damn but I miss that thumps up emoticon)

OK, I'm an inside sales representative (ISR) for a mid-tier electronic components distributor. That means I work with outside sales people (OSR) all over the country (east coast and mostly dixie states for me) selling little tiny bits of electronic crap that go in just about everything, along with flat panel displays (just the panel, not the whole tricked out TV), thermal printers and a few other odd electronic things. Was the greatest job I've ever had for the first 2-3 years I was in it and has pretty much been all down hill for the past two years. Thank God for boards like this! ;)

Hobbies: Poker (not playing as much right now, but still love the game), Reading (I devour books), Golf, Guns, knives...and if you ask my wife, some new obsession about every year(they are actually the same obsessions recycled)!

I'm 30, married to an absolutely wonderful woman, have no kids unless you count my dog and her bird.
I'll turn 37 this year in October and beyond that, very little of the above has changed. It's now dogs, plural and we will have been married 13 years in July. Still working the same ol' job though I've been "acquired" twice now and would call this company a "mid-tier with top-tier aspirations", though they like to reference themselves as a "$10M start-up" referencing the massive Asia parent company. I've picked up my MBA since my original post, so that's a pretty big deal, though I've not managed to make it count in any appreciable way. Still love cigars and this place and really, haven't picked up any new hobbies beyond what is listed above (I should show that to the wife to prove my point!).

That's about it. See this bumped regularly and thought it would be interesting to dig back and see my first post.

Hello Brothers,
Here's my 411;
I'm a sales manager for a large German company that manufactures industrial automation products (motion control, pneumatics, linear rail & bearings).....with a strategic focus on the semiconductor industry. I'm 45 yrs old with a lovely GF that is practically a common-law wife by now. No kids, but I'm a very involved uncle to a 15 yr old nephew and twin 11 yr old nieces.
I love being outside either hunting, fishing, kayaking, boating, playing golf, whatever.....and I try to incorporate a libation and smoke either during or after all of those activities. Oh, I almost forgot my fall passion; SEC football (Roll Tide).... I love it!
I've enjoyed cigars for over 15 years and look forward to learning more about others that enjoy them.
That's it for now.....I'm sure more will become apparent as times goes by.

I'm another finance guy working in education. MBA from Duke, which is probably obvious from my avatar. Huge Blue Devils fan (especially men's and women's bball). I've been married 7 years and smoking cigars for about 10. Enjoy reading (fiction and nonfiction) and video games (on a Fallout New Vegas kick lately). We're in baby-planning mode, so I'm hoping I'll be a dad for the first time within the next year or so.
