The scumbags are already gouging the UF-4's. $550 on EBay and I can almost guarantee the same shitbirds is selling them on OLH for $250. Only because he knows the people there will rip him to shrends as usual. Some people are just destined to be pieces of shit. I got 1 dress box this year and sold it for exactly what I paid plus shipping. I understand paying more for aged CC's but the ass raping that goes on with Ligas and Tats is disgusting. Oh well, who cares what I think, right.

Let me start by saying I don't buy and resell cigars, I enjoy them myself. I have been know to buy and sell rare CDs, and other stuff.

This topic comes up a lot. I always wonder why people get so upset. The question I pose is if someone's willing to pay it is it the sellers fault or are the guys chasing running up the prices. I mean if people wouldn't pay the prices for these cigars there would be no market! They wouldn't be able to ask crazy prices...so the guys that have to have the latest tat ,liga at all costs are supporting the secondary market.

That's why I enjoy this brotherhood, members are willing to help out at no extra cost usually.

Meh. Doesn't really upset me at all. Sure. It would be nice to get my hands on some at MSRP but if I can't get any because of availability or high secondary prices so be it. Life goes on, I'll smoke my dirty rats and BOTL coronas instead. He can sell it for whatever price he wants. I'm just not going to buy it. The demand states that price is legit. He doesn't force anyone to pull out their wallet and pay for it. If you can afford it it at that price, kudos to you.

It's very simple...Anything that is made in limited quantities and is in high demand will sell higher than retail. Rare cars, baseball cards, and cigars.I can't imagine why it would upset anyone, as any price paid is simply the market value. Nobody holds a gun to the buyer's head, it's what he feels is a fair price to him.

I assume there was no limit on purchasing the uf4s.
Whoever listed it on OLH must have taken it down.

Agreed, and it's like the stock market. In my other hobby. Depending on the status of a player, prices will fluctuate up to 50%.

OLH was initially set up as a sales place for Cigar Family -no affiliation, original guy was Danny M back around 1992( there isn't a market place there to this day). It's become a free market place ( we call it the Black Market at CF)

As long as nobody posts gouging prices here, I have no issue. OLH has become a place where people go to profit more than just move product and most know that's what happens there. That being said if you're looking for that ultra rate stick, you'll prob find it, just be willing to pay for it. Like Craig, I stay away from there and always look up anyone you've never dealt with before. G1

I think I agree with the people who say it does not bother them. To get a bundle you had to be at the event at CdM right? So you either had to live in the area or travel there to get them. If you live in California you may want to pay whatever it cost to get them because it is the only way to get them. Compared to paying for a plane ticket and a hotel to get to the event, $500 doesn't seem that bad.
If you don't like the cost, don't pay it. Simple.

I wouldn't expect someone to go out of his way to procure UF-4 bundles to sell to the public for MSRP. Any extremely limited, extremely in demand product for only $100 over MSRP on OLH? Hell, that's about a good a deal as you can expect to find. If it wasn't Halloween I would've loved to have driven out to Chicago for the event. Grabbing the UF-4s still would've cost more than $250 driving from Detroit. UF-s +100 in gas + $20 in drinks and food + event ticket + whatever else I buy and smoke in CdM = much more than $250. I don't see the problem.

Gouging comes up constantly and in this instance I simply don't see it. And most of these Ebay guys never get what they ask. I'm a paper money collector and I've seen the same items from the same retailers constantly up for sale going on several years now. Their shit will never sell but apparently they don't care. A lot of the same cigar products are up a lot too. Doesn't mean that they are moving this stuff at these ridiculous prices.

This leads to another discussion about what is gouging? I've sold items here on BOTL for more than MSRP. I sold a 5er of T52 pigs for $20 a pop. MSRP was $12. I sure as shit didn't get these for $12 and I sold them for what I paid. I also sold a few UF-13s for $16 a piece. MSRP was $13. An asshat member here decided to hit me up and inform me that he would not pay over MSRP and was incredulous that I was doing so. Well, good sir, I didn't get these for $13 a piece. If you want them, pay $16 or STFU. I bought the damn things just to sell to people here who were having trouble finding them and I didn't make a dime. Also, I see people all the time say they don't pay over MSRP for items. At later times, I see these same people posting up ISO's for Rare DE stuff, or Boris, Franks, Dress Box Tats, Barclay Rex or Pork Tenderloins. I'm supposed to believe that these people are going to pay MSRP for the most limited items on the marketplace today? Ummmm, no I think not. Hell, if I had any Boris I certainly wouldn't sell them at MSRP and I can't blame anyone who has them selling them at at double whatever they paid. If that's gouging then so be it, the marketplace can certainly handle it for such a HTF product so make your money, player. This novel is concluded.

I think I'm more upset that you used the word "rapist" to describe somebody trying to sell items over MSRP than I am about them trying it.

Not cool at all.

You got it right! Nothing better than getting my hands on them super htf cigars just so I can quickly turn around and double my money on my friends here in the community. The best part is it makes these htf cigars harder and harder to find so you know what that means!!! More and more money we can get out of our "brothers"!!! (And by brothers I mean people that we refer to as friends unless we are talking business...then they are just buyers who have deep pockets and luckily for us they have not been able to find that cigar box they were dying for!)

Someone said it earlier this month on another board..:gougers will never understand why people think they are douchebags. I'll spell it out...people who gouge take advantage of people who were less fortunate in the hunt for cigars that we are all looking for. Make that precious money but don't be too shocked when the community turns it back to you.

And incase you could not read into it...my first paragraph was me being sarcastic

the main consideration to me, is this person buying htf cigars just to resell them and make a profit? if that's the case, then he should also be paying sales tax on his profits....

So by your logic If a friend buys a box of cigars for more than retail, they are now 'just buyers'? What about a friend who decides that $XXX is a fair price for that box? Who is to say that they are wrong? And why is it 'wrong' for a seller to sell at $XXX?
Again, it's simple...Supply and demand holds true for anything that is in high demand, and is in limited quantities. Last time I looked, a box of Barclay Rex fits that description....Does that mean a box of B Rex should be sold at MSRP? LOL!

I am on a few forums and this is a common thread. I am not going to give my personal opinion but I will say that markup is the name of the game with cigars. Like it or not. Even the non HTF have been marked up 2-3 times by the time they reach you. It's all about what I am willing to pay for something I want.
