My life story. When I'm not building or working on someone else's house, I'm working on mine.
This new one we but has quite a bit of work to do. Every post holding up the wrap around porched needs to be replaced and piers formed and poured.
There's about 32 of them. New front stairs. The old owner built the house and somehow was never told it's a bad idea to put lumber directly into or on dirt.
New siding. All the electrical has to be redone, but I can only do the basement since it's the only area exposed. It goes on and on throughout the property.
My wife didn't want spend the money to come see the house, and I told her it was a bad idea, but we bought it sight unseen.
I would have offered 50-60k less if I had seen it beforehand.

Off to Atlanta again at midnight. this will be the last Friday night pickup, since Delta now has a non stop to Reno.
Morning and afternoon pick up and drop off from now on.

I've seen a few teardowns over time. Hope the pain stops after this replacement.

Speaking of past owner idiocies

Putting shingles on a flat plywood roof

Installing screen walls by drilling up through the top plate into sheet metal roof panels where the screws where not sealed from the top

By the time I'm finished almost 10K and they want an additional 4% if I use a CC or debit card Just put in a new roof, flooring, pool pumps and filter, interior paint, cut out 8-20ft palm trees, 12 pine trees. Kind of looking over my shoulder to find out what's next.

Super stressful day. Go to an oral surgeon to have a lesion in my mouth looked at. Ended up having to do a biopsy where they cut large chunks of the lesion off from inside my cheek and put in a bunch of sutures to seal it up. Been having a lot of pain in my right cheek for more than a few months. Find out in 2 weeks what it is....
