How would you feel about working as a customer service rep for the next year or so to establish your TN residency? I know of an awesome (cigar friendly) company in the Nashville area that may be looking for one in the near future.
If you're being serious, get me the details. I'm still job hunting, and currently doing so in the customer service field.
Edit: and did I mention "In-N-Out pairs well with all the beer we got lying around here?"
Mmmmmm. In-N-Out. Yes, yes that could work.

Give it a month or two, and you'll be over In-N-Out and onto the local burrito stands... which also pair well with the local beers.

I'm really more of a taco guy than burrito fan, but I suppose I could adapt. Beer helps.

Thinking outside the box a bit, but have you considered the military? Travel to various states, paid to play with high tech weaponry and GI bill. With your high test scores it's not like you would be lugging an M-16 through the desert more than likely. Just a thought.

I have, and I've ruled it out.

Wait... are you even suggesting that we don't have tacos here? pfffffff....

Just so we're clear:
haha no. I'm just saying that would have been the better sales pitch ;)

I live in PA, but if I were in your shoes I'd be looking at Texas because its a great state with great weather and great gun laws and its just great. and the cost of living is about as cheap as anywhere I've seen.

Also Atlanta has a super low cost of living. I could get a monster nice house for what paid here in Pittsburgh.

just some more thoughts.

Someone in another thread said "nothing worth while was ever accomplished waiting for it" seems to apply here as well ;)

NC is cool, not sure if i would recommend it though. thats probably because i live here (grass is greener on the other side type of thing). not a terrible place to be. Raleigh or Charlotte is your best bet if look at NC.

personally i would think about studying abroad....which is different from studying a broad btw

Very much not interested in pursuing an advanced degree abroad. Maybe if I could do over my undergrad... but even then, nah.

I think you are romanticizing a bit - which is cool. But it's not really "practical" or wise.

Write the LSAT -> apply to the highest ranking tear one schools your results will allow you to go to. Who cares where the school is "located!" Seek the best education/name your grades and funds will land you. No matter where that is - the winters will most likely be better than where you are anyway.

If you get past your first couple of years, when you are a 3L - consider where you want to live. At that point you'll have already moved once and know what's important to you for your next. You can write the Bar in any state you want once you have graduated. Personally speaking I would go directly into an LLM program out of law school... specialising is the way to go.

I have lived in NC, SC, GA, AL, FL, AZ and TN. of all of them, Tn. Is where I want to be for tax reasons. Chattanooga for all the various outdoor things available (ranked #1 in the state). There are over a dozen universities and colleges in the area. Sales tax is a little high but I am only 500 yards from Ga. Economy is leading the state as well as much of the nation. We inherited 8 acres in Ky but I will keep Tn residency.
