Like I haven't seen the inside of a gym in two years. lolWelcome back, Mike. How's it feeling?
Things have changed so much in the last few years. I can't lift the weights I once did, so I've found other ways to ramp up the intensity and keep things semi-fresh.I have to stop judging my workouts based on what I could do and accept the new reality.
Since it has been so long, I'm getting the intensity. Plus, each week I lose a little more of the nervousness and doubt. Plus the neurological pathways are waking up again. So, I'm taking solace in big newbie jumps in strength.Things have changed so much in the last few years. I definitely agree, Mike, my training has gone from 6 days a week to 5, that extra rest day helps the recovery at this age. My sunburn and plans with family will keep me out another couple days. I'm already hungry to get back, so it should be fun to get back in.The break is super necessary as we advance in life. I ended up with ten days straight of gym and work. I did not miss a day, but I slept like eleven hours after that.
An average day at work is 16,000 steps. My routine right now is 5x5 on the compound lifts and 4 sets of 8 on accessories. So, the intensity might be a bit high for just starting back.
