I have really enjoyed this thread and the posts. Since I broke my leg at work almost 6 weeks ago and am in the middle of a worker's comp claim, I need to be careful and not say anything. I wish my brothers only good days filled with good cigar and/or pipe smoke.
Silver lining; hope this affords you a bit more time to sit back and contemplate life with a good smoke while everything gets sorted out. Here's to a speedy recovery, Sir!
Thank you sir. It has given me time to do as you say. You know I was asking God for a break; I just didn't know it was going to be literal !

I'm in a niche business, we sell electrical equipment with a focus on commercial/industrial circuit breakers. Not a traditional supply house so we carry all brands in new and used stuff. We pretty much count on people calling us when they need something and don't do a lot of cold calling. So, a bad day for me would be when the only time the phone rings is for a return. And there's been a few times where I've got a little shock when testing a breaker, that's never fun.

As a conductor for Union Pacific, we have established a running joke that you need 2 of the 3 points on the work triangle for a good day of work. The points are, good co worker, nice weather, and manageable work load. So I guess if I'm missing two of the three, or more, work is going to be sucky. Also banging your knee on any piece of railroad equipment stings like a son of a B.

I remember all the bad days when I worked and retirement is significantly better. The best day working doesn't even compare to the worst day in retirement. I love waking up in the mornings now and look at the clock that say....6 a.m. and I roll over and go back to sleep til noon.

Here's a bad day at work for me.

About 400 slabs of granite laying down is not easy to pick back up. We lost about 60 something slabs that day at a total cost of about $95,000.

i would like to thank everyone here who participated, as seeing someone else's bad day can put your own in perspective.

for me, a bad day always involves telling a customer "NO"; no, you cannot steal that, no, your credit/debit card does NOT work like that and no amount of me calling them is going to help, no, you are not sober enough to neither buy that from me, nor drive home.

my GOOD days are usually when one of my recommendations come through: that was the perfect beer, that wine made my in laws happy, your recommendations for this wedding were perfect. although the best has to be when i remember someone who when they had just turned 21, and now helping them with college graduation party buys, or wedding catering, that shit is kinda cool. o)

I have to say reading others bad days and thinking to myself what my bad day is.... I am at a loss. I truly have it made at my current career and I guess my bad day would be if it all ends.

My bad day is finding out one of my employees might be selling to underage customers....I got an anonymous email that stated the employee cards them like normal then enters a fake birthday into the computer to finish the sale..... Now I get to scour months of tape zooming in on id's to find proof.....

As someone who used to be in that business, that is a bad day!

We had a guy that wasn't a very good forklift operator, hopefully he is not working there now.
