Well my wife said she wanted to buy wine and I said that there is some beer I'd like to pick up. Well.....

All but three are Belgian. Of the Belgians two aren't made with acid producing bacteria and yeast. The real funky shaped bottle is a German ale called gose which is sour and low alcohol. Then second one in on the left is an English Old Stock ale which has soured beer blended with fresh beer. The extreme left is a traditional lambic from Cantillion. The two Orval (bottled 1yr ago) on the right while not sour they are bottled with a yeast capable of producing acetic acid. The Squall IPA was the wife's pick. We picked up a mixed case of wine also. It was a little bit of a stock up trip!

A Adam I admire your taste, you know what you like brother. Looks like your a real palate pleaser  I took your advice as well as a few others regarding my beer venture. I went to a six pack store and grabbed a 6er of micro brews to get me started. Here's what I grabbed saturday -

Me and the misses are having a little Mascoto tonight with dinner

So far I liked 3 out of 4...the Prelude special ale which is a darker brew may take a little getting use too , the Samuel Adams wasn't too bad, Lowenbrau reminds me of my Heineken's, Magic Hat was uh....ok. I can get use to this think I'll grab another 6'er this weekend.

Last beer I picked up was a little of the Lord... Lord Chesterfield Ale. It really hits the spot every now and then.

Deschutes The Abyss finally landed in Houston today!
Very nice! I was able to get a couple bottles but apparently the distribution companies in the los angeles area screwed up so it's very hard to find here.
My local beer store rocks... they have a ton in stock and just announced they have a KEG of the Abyss for sale.

Nice to see all the Abyss showing up around the Country!

And I'm telling you.....all you Abyss lovers....If you can track down some Port Brewing Old Viscosity, I highly recommend picking some up.

It's excellent, and $4-6 cheaper per bottle than the Abyss....which is obviously excellent as well.

My local is great because they post on Facebook when they get new and HTF beers in. They went crazy over the Traquair 2020 saying they got 6 of them in so I busted balls and got one. I had to pick up their regular House Ales too. If you don't know about them, do some searching as they are very small and produce top notch scotch ales!

The 2 on the right are a couple Dogfish Head brews...
