Sounds good. Got a bottle chilling as we speak:bottle:Enjoying some ommegang Aphrodite on tap at the saucer! It reminds me of Russian river supplication a sour ale with cherries on the palate....except not as in your face! Very good beer!
Aphrodite is not what I was expecting, but so good!smokingIsh said:Sounds good. Got a bottle chilling as we speak:bottle:
Very good choice, try the Piraat if you like a heavier Belgian.KPP said:Think I may have found a new favorite Belgian...
A little heavier in the carbonation, and lighter on the fruit than say a Tripel...but just a really, really nice beer!
Orval is a polarizing beer. Either you like it or you don't, at least with the older bottles (>1year age). The fresh stuff has less wild brett character.Haven't had a ton of the Trappist ales just yet......the St. Bernadus and the Orval being the other two in my latest beer purchase...
This one was the best of those 3 IMO...the others were good, but this one was excellent.
Yes....the Orval was the most "unique" of the 3 as I recall. I only had one...and I'm going back for my second try at it after this Westmalle is gone, so we'll see if my initial opinion holds true.Orval is a polarizing beer.
