Enjoying some ommegang Aphrodite on tap at the saucer! It reminds me of Russian river supplication a sour ale with cherries on the palate....except not as in your face! Very good beer!

Tried Florida's Swamp Ape IPA, took one sip, almost threw up, returned it immediately. Got some Green Flash Double Stout instead, best Stout Ive ever had.

Think I may have found a new favorite Belgian...

A little heavier in the carbonation, and lighter on the fruit than say a Tripel...but just a really, really nice beer!

Very good choice, try the Piraat if you like a heavier Belgian.

Mike shared an excellent bourbon barrel aged barley wine, Cockeyed Cooper from Unita. Thanks bud, hope the brew is progressing well.

Haven't had a ton of the Trappist ales just yet......the St. Bernadus and the Orval being the other two in my latest beer purchase...

This one was the best of those 3 IMO...the others were good, but this one was excellent.

Orval is a polarizing beer. Either you like it or you don't, at least with the older bottles (>1year age). The fresh stuff has less wild brett character.

Yes....the Orval was the most "unique" of the 3 as I recall. I only had one...and I'm going back for my second try at it after this Westmalle is gone, so we'll see if my initial opinion holds true.
