We used to have a lumber yard in Tahoe that I always got my lumber from. It was never perfect, but pretty good for the most part. All Doug Fir.
Being in Georgia now, I'm pretty much stuck with Lowes and HD. So far I've found that HD's is better. 2x4 at Lowes here is typically pine.
At HD it's all been Spruce/Hem fir which seems to be straighter over the long haul. That doesn't mean I don't pick through it all though.
I'll go through half a unit to get what I want. Its just the way it is unfortunately.

Going through a whole rack just to get a few decent boards. It a workout unto itself.

Tried a high stim pre-workout a friend recommended. 333 grams of caffeine does not sit well on a breakfast of oatmeal and whey protein. I almost wanted to apologize to the gym staff.

On the plus side, it has made getting back in the gym much easier. It definitely helps push through the compound strength movements. Because front squats will always suck.
